Jack is the nickname for John, as Harry is to Henry, and I don’t like nicknames used as given names, personally.
Otherwise all good, solid classics . I don’t know any small Peters, Benjamins, Matthews or Vincents.

Benjamin, William, Edward and Matthew are my fav. I love a good classic name

I think the trouble is most of these are SO popular, they end up very meh even though they are nice names

I’d go for Matthew or Joseph from your current list.

Laurence, Patrick, Michael, Robert, Victor and Daniel might be worth considering as less used

Charles - done to death
William - done to death
Richard - it’s fine I just don’t like it
George done to death
Jack - done to death and then some
Vincent - it’s thuggish to me
Arthur - done to death
Benjamin - nice and quite popular
Joseph - lovely, not overused right now, you have to be happy with Joe
Edward - done to death
Luke - Lucas and Luca have become suddenly fashionable so it will date
Peter - it’s nice but Pete isn’t
Matthew - nice, you have to be happy with Matt

God, none of the 'royal' names.
Jack is too commonly used now.
Richard, Peter, Matthew - wrong century, sorry.
My favourites are Arthur or Vincent - solid, not too commonplace but not out there.

I like Arthur, Benjamin and Edward the most

William is a classic name and there is normally a William in each class at school, it is lovely but I never used it as so popular

@Twillow , Arthur is the #4 most popular name in England & Wales
Babies called Arthur in England & Wales since 1996 (darkgreener.com)
3776 of them registered in 2021, and over 4000 in the previous 2 years.

Vincent is more unusual, but Vinnie/Vinny and Vince are awful.

What a refreshingly nice list!

I like them all, least favourite are Charles and George. The rest are all good.
