1 week old and not sure I love the name anymore?!

Has this happened to anyone else? I have been set on the name for months, even had to convince my OH (who now loves the name) but I can’t seem to get used to it and not sure I absolutely love it like I thought I would.
Could it just be that my hormones are all over the place?!

Is it that you don't feel it suits your baby, somehow? Have you registered the name yet?

I loved my children’s names but when they were born I found it hard to actually use the name - I’d just call them “baby” or some other pet name. I think it was because I felt they were too tiny to inhabit their name. It wasn’t that I regretted what we’d chosen. As they got older they grew into their names in my mind and that was that.

Personally I don’t believe that babies “look” like certain names. They look like potatoes 😄

I think it's very normal! It seems strange after thinking about it for so long that this tiny person now has the name! I think it will be fine if you have loved it for a while...give it time x

100% this! I don't think babies ever look like their name! Children do though.

It takes a while to get used to it. My second I did wonder whether I’d got it right but now she couldn’t be anything else.
Name regret can be a sign of PND so just be on the lookout for other signs

Their name is a weird thing at first because you aren’t using it to shout them in the other room or anything, it’s just their name but isn’t really used and when it is it feels a bit unnatural and false when you’ve spent all those months debating it. I think it is very normal to have cold feet after initially picking it. Is there another name you think you should have picked or are you just having second thoughts on this one? I bet it will grow on you as baby starts to do more and you use it to say to them

I don't think babies really suit proper names! I think it was only aged 2 or 3 that I really thought of my DS1 by his name and not the silly family nickname. I absolutely love his name, but it was such a proper human name for the tiny little thing we brought home from hospital.

@Curtains2004 I did this before baby was born she's now 3 weeks.

Was set on a name for a girl convinces OH then just before due date I completely went off the name DD has a completely different name which I love, if your not sure try out some other.

DD was no name for 2 weeks while we decided x
