For some reason these names keep popping into my head, although DH isn’t convinced!

How do you feel they compare to our current forerunners of Flora and Heidi?

Thank you

@pancakesandpepsi associating flora with the margarine only ever seems to be a problem on here. In real life it’s not something people think about

It is. I wanted to call a girl Flora, 27 years ago and my DH vetoed it for the same reason. We had a DS.

Love Beatrice but hate Beatrix it's unnecessarily tricksy

This

Thanks guys. We have ruled Beatrice out so it’s down to the other three now :)

I like Flora the best out of your remaining three. But they're all nice names

@Crunchymum not a fan of Posy, thank you for the suggestion though

To me it feels like Polly or Heidi will appeal to one set of people. Beatrice and Flora to another.

You could give her three names? to include two favourites and a family name.

You could also think about her in all the decades after you name her. She's not going to be a baby for long, but an adult for a very long time.

Personally I'd rather go through life as a Beatrice and its shortenings. Not thrilled at the idea of Flora being shortened, or being a menopausal Heidi. Polly might bridge the gap from cute toddler to adult, but it'd be horrendous with my surname. I also wouldn't like being referred to as Pol.

My own DCs got horrible shortenings at school, but as adults everyone seems to use their full names (which aren't long anyway)
