Lindsay or Faye.

These were the two 'popular/pretty' girls in my class (all the boys fancied them and the girls wanted to be like them 🤦‍♀️). I was 10, shy and plain - even their names seemed glamorous to me then! 😢 🤣

Hayley or Billie-Jo. When I was a teenager I was sure if I had a girl she’d be named one of these.
I did have a girl, and she has neither of these names. Although, I still like the names.

Michelle- I thought that it was beautiful because it had the word shell in it. Made me think of mermaids.

Shannon or Isla (thanks to Isla Fisher playing Shannon in Home and Away)

Antonia. There was a girl at my primary school called Antonia [+ rare, pretty surname]. I admired her because she was older than me, she was kind and I loved her name. I also thought she was a beautiful girl. With hindsight, I can see that she wasn’t conventionally good looking, but such was the power of her name and character.

Kerry

I was certain I would have a child I would call Kerry. Then I fell for a Kerry who didn't feel the same way towards me. Then I couldn't get pregnant.

So this is a depressing post.

Saffric Curan for a boy. No idea where I got these names from, but I loved them to bits when I was about fourteen!

Lizzy1980 · 17/04/2023 23:36

Julie, it seemed so glamorous compared to my name which I hated growing up, but have learned to like - Elizabeth
