Why do people do these mad bodyswerves to avoid names?

Just give your child a name you like and don't go all-out to avoid anything someone else will choose.

I quite like 70's names too. I hanker after Gillian for a hypothetical dd2.

well i agonised over roary/ruaridh/rory however the hell you sell it. and decided against.
i like the names i chose, regardless og who else has them.

That's something I just don't get. If a friend named her children after mine I'd feel honoured.
