That's it really. Which one. He has no siblings yet.

Edward & William - To ‘Royally’

Trixiedrum · 24/03/2023 13:30

Tbh they’re all pretty much the same to me.

Maybe choose based on which nickname you like best?

bobby81 · 24/03/2023 13:34

Thomas

Coxspurplepippin · 24/03/2023 13:35

All good names with good nickname choices. Don't think you can go wrong with any of them.

toastofthetown · 24/03/2023 13:47

They’re all totally interchangeable. Do you prefer Tom, Ed or Will?

shoopshoopdedoo · 24/03/2023 15:28

All nice. I probably prefer Thomas

lostinfusion · 24/03/2023 15:36

depends on your surname but I like Edward

JE17 · 24/03/2023 15:43

I like them all, my favourite is Eddie.

ourflagmeansdeath · 24/03/2023 19:33

They're all perfectly fine no matter what you choose. I'd go for William only because I love the nickname Will and like Liam too.

KirstenBlest · 24/03/2023 19:42

Thomas

sparklecrazy · 24/03/2023 19:44

I'm going with William simply because I have one too Smile

ODFOx · 24/03/2023 19:45

They are all nice, classic names. Nothing to dislike with any of them. Which do you most like to say?
Congratulations SmileFlowers

I have a Thomas - likes to be called Tom now. He had 5 Thomas’s in his class!something to bear in mind is how popular it is. For my second child I actually purposely chose a not popular name, Christopher.

FarmersWife2019 · 24/03/2023 19:50

I will say Edward as I have one too. 🙂

Northernsoullover · 24/03/2023 19:52

Definitely Edward. Not rare, but rarer than Thomas and William. All lovely names mind you.

Luredbyapomegranate · 24/03/2023 20:53

Thomas

It’s nice, but mainly because the other two a way overused right now

All good names with good nickname choices. Don't think you can go wrong with any of them.

Agreed. William is my favourite of those three. James is my favourite boys' name ever, closely followed by David.

WhisperingAutistic · 24/03/2023 21:24

I prefer Thomas. Depends on the surname really though.

ladygindiva · 24/03/2023 22:34

I love Edward. So many options for shortenings but short enough in its full form anyway. It's a great name.

user1492757084 · 25/03/2023 06:31

All handsome.
I prefer Thomas.

17caterpillars1mouse · 25/03/2023 09:26

As pp's said: all timeless classics , all fairly popular "can't go wrong" choices (and all 3 were on my own list Grin- I like names where you can't easily guess age, nationality or social background and with great historical namesakes).

My top pick is William. Can't beat the wide variety of interesting namesakes (The Conqueror, Tell, Scarlet, Wallace, Shakespeare, Wilberforce, Wordsworth, "Billy The Kid", Clinton, Gates... there seems to have been a prominent William in pretty much every field/media), hence it's so well known/used worldwide.

2nd choice Thomas - again great namesakes and international, but it's been the most popular for a while in the UK, as well as having less nn variety than William and Edward if you do get another Thomas/Tom in his school class/social groups.

3rd place to Edward. Really love it, but it is less international - plus I personally dislike the most likely nn "Ed/Eddie" (and "Teddy" is super trendy/popular now too). If I could guarantee the full Edward or maybe Ned, it might be higher for me.
