Help with my ridiculous boys name criteria

Jerrylarrygary · 15/02/2023 17:02

I'm trying to think of boys names, and drawing a complete blank as I either don't like them, or if I do they have been used by my friends and family who've had boys over the last few years. I do realise I sound insanely picky, but does anyone have any suggestions for nice names with these criteria:

Doesn't begin with E, D, L or B
Not cutesy but not traditional
Not an 'old man' name
Class neutral (probably a terrible way to put it!) - i.e. not Jasper or Hugo, and not Kayden or Brayden.
Not one of these: Toby, Arlo, Ben, Theo, Leo, Isaac, Elliot, Finley, Max, Reuben, Louis, Jonah, Nathan/Nate, Etienne, Noah, Sam, Oscar, Alfie

I am open to:
Something nature related
A bit unusual is fine but nothing too out there
Welsh influenced would be ok for our family background but we do currently live in England, albeit a border town.
Not bothered on length, nickname or shortenability.

It will have an unusual but not at all weird 3 syllable surname.

Help?

Who cosleeps with their baby?
Who contact naps?
Interested in hearing people's experiences good and bad!

And you are researching for what paper/website ?

Well my criteria did say not traditional, and all of those seem pretty trad to me? I'm afraid I hate them all.

Thanks for your feedback, I’ll make a note not to bother again.

Good luck finding something - you might find that the baby ‘looks’ like a particular name once he arrives.

Fern? I always that it’s a nice neutral nature name

Well I do appreciate you trying, but I did take the time to lay out my criteria (even if you disagree!) and your answer was to suggest names that clearly don't fit, and make a slightly snotty comment about 'yoonique' names and infer that I'm not aware that children grow into adults with the same name. I think we just have different tastes and that's ok.

I do like Fern but I'd always thought of it as a girls name

BumpyaDaisyevna · 15/02/2023 17:58

Ivo?

Have you name changed @Tesselate? You started the thread as @Jerrylarrygary

I see a few people suggesting Daniel and Dominic - she said no D names

I did, realised the list of family names might make me identifiable, but I messed up name changing, oops!

Am appreciating the long lists though, lots of food for thought!

Griff...Good welsh links.

Thruandthru1 · 15/02/2023 18:01

I would say that any biblical or royal name are generally used by all classes and are timeless.

PauliString · 15/02/2023 18:03

I wouldn't worry about popularity, if that's a concern at all, as it's so hard to predict. DD (solid boring traditional name) was the only one of her kind in a year with multiple Xaviers and more than one Apollo.

WombatBombat · 15/02/2023 18:03

I really like Flynn for any future DS.

Also like Rohan, Stellan and August.

CaramelMach · 15/02/2023 18:04

Rufus
Woody (Edward) probably too traditional for you
Elon
Judah
Jonah

Not sure why you've ruled out Rowan, it's a lovely name

CaramelMach · 15/02/2023 18:04

Rohan is great. Shame it's off the list already albeit with a different spelling
