What do you think about Eden for a boy?

Other names in the line up are:
Reuben
Elias
Ezra (OH isn’t a big fan)

It can be used as a boy's name! Eden Hazard anyone?!

Appleass · 16/01/2023 12:51

Goodness no no no, unless you want him to be ridiculed by his peers !

Saturn88 · 16/01/2023 12:51

Belgian footballer

IsadoraQuagmire · 16/01/2023 12:56

The first Eden I think of is Eden Kane, the singer, I saw him in concert last year. Or Eden Wood, but she's female.

Who or what is Eden Hazard?

google is your friend in these situations.

DuchessOfSausage · 16/01/2023 13:00

@StrychnineInTheSandwiches , is it a Cornish tourist attraction traffic gridlock?

Ihatethenewlook · 16/01/2023 13:02

I’ve recently met my first Eden, a male in his 20’s. I first thought ‘what a weird name’. Now it’s grown on me to the point where if I had another boy it would be in my top 2 choices, I love it.

JustFrustrated · 16/01/2023 13:19

The only Eden I know is a boy.

Suits him 100%. And now I can only imagine a boy having that name.

mintdaisy · 16/01/2023 13:22

I love it and much prefer it for a boy but I would be worried it might become more 'girly' as they got older. Love all your choices actually.

brusselspout · 16/01/2023 13:24

I only know boy Edens and it's pronounced differently as they're (French) European lads.
I'm not keen on it because it feels feminine to me although I know it's not traditionally a girls name.

2weeksleft · 16/01/2023 13:25

Very mixed reviews, thanks for all your opinions. Who knew the toughest part of my
pregnancy so far would be choosing a name 🤯 x

My name is Eden and whilst people say how lovely a name it is, I’m often told people only know boys named Eden, so they’re definitely out there!

TheFlis12345 · 16/01/2023 13:32

I know a male Eden, he’s in his late 20’s, it really suits him!

Daisybuttercup12345 · 17/01/2023 00:49

Sounds like a girl to me. I know three!
Can't stand Ezra.
Ethan?

Fiddledeedeeee · 17/01/2023 06:55

I always think of Eden as a boys name as I’ve known one for about 20 years, who’s in his 40’s.

I’d never heard of it as a girls name until recently when it became very popular and thought it sounded odd on a girl at first!

LaLuz7 · 17/01/2023 07:07

No. It's absolutely cringey on a girl and even worse on a boy. Can you imagine a 44 year old dude named Eden? I can't.

Reuben is also a mouthful and a little too biblical for my taste

Elias and Ezra are nice

Well I imagine @Fiddledeedeeee can 😂😂

I can see it working on a blonde little surfer dude, who grows up to be a tree surgeon or outdoor pursuits leader. I think it’s lovely.

but if you have a little Mark Corrigan, maybe not so apt

"A little Mark Corrigan"... my favourite comment!

I feel it's a name leaning female atm BUT would at least make a change from the sea of Freddies, Noahs, Olivers.

Sonyo · 17/01/2023 12:54

I've always seen it as a unisex name, but I much prefer it for a boy. I've met 5 Edens in my life, and 3 were boys.

annlee3817 · 17/01/2023 12:59

I have a friend with a boy who is an Eden, really suits him. I assumed girls name at first, but now I don't

Cats23 · 17/01/2023 13:02

It's a girls name

TrashyPanda · 17/01/2023 13:37

Love Eden for a boy.

your other three names give me kind of dark vibes, if that makes sense. Like I’d be wary of someone called Ezra. But that could be because of the deeply creepy Ezra Miller.

SpentDandelion · 17/01/2023 13:44

I prefer Ethan.

Iguanainanigloo · 17/01/2023 13:48

It definitely sounds like a girls name more than a boys name. Don't like it for either if I'm honest!

NanFlanders · 17/01/2023 13:51

I only know it as a girl's name. I like Reuben. Elijah, maybe?
