What did you want to call your babies?

I have 3 children and they all had names I almost called them

first baby - Rex
original choices were Herbie for a boy and Polly for a girl.

second baby - Indie
Ozzy for a boy and Elora/ Orla for a girl

third baby - Orla
Hugo for a boy and Orla for a girl although I did also toy with the idea of Izzy too for a bit

also always loved Heidi, Hattie and Honey but couldn't pass the dad test

DD we didn't have any others, it was the only name we ever considered.

DS we would probably have gone with scarlet if he was a girl. We discussed Edward and Benjamin but dh wasn't keen. I liked Ace as a middle name but dh wasn't even entertaining that.

DD1 Alexandra, Gabriella or Naomi. DH said no to all but am very happy with the name we chose as love it just as much.

DS2 Issac or Daniel DH said no to Issac and my best friend had just had a Daniel. Again very happy with the name we agreed on.

DS born 13 years ago and was going to be called Kai - up until the point where Wayne Rooney had his first child who was called Kai and we didn’t want people to think we had copied the then very famous footballer!

I wanted Kit when I was pregnant the first time, but then found out she was a DD and I really dislike Kitty. So we went with April Akemi (surname)
When I was pregnant with DC2 there was all of a sudden Kits everywhere. So he is Gabriel Haru (surname)

I really wanted Hiro, Ren, Akane, Chihiro but we have family who live in the midlands and I think they would have just butchered the pronunciation 😅

Ophelia. Or Aurelia. I also had Marnie, aoife and my mum wanted Ava.

DS1 I chose his name and when I saw him it just fit him and still does now…
If he was a girl he was going to be Ruby

DS2 I realllly wanted Cohen or Reuben but DH got his own way and it still doesn’t sit right with me (brat that I am) 🫣
If a girl he was going to be Hattie Valentine.

please could I ask what you named your DD2? Only if you’re happy to share 🙂My DH is set on Emily but I’m not keen. Wondering what we can compromise on!

1st child - Emma
Original name choices were Emma or Noah. We always knew our 1st DD would be called Emma.

2nd Child - Nathaniel (Nate for short).
Original girl.name choice was Niamh. By the time I fell pregnant 2nd time round both my DH and I had vetoed Noah as it was such a popular name. We both liked Sebastian and Tobias but weren't keen that the names would probably be shortened.

For a girl, I liked Emily and Ruby.
For a Boy, I originally wanted Samuel James.

My children don’t have any of those names but I love their names now

We can’t have any more kids now, dh had a vasectomy and I’m technically disabled now, but if we had another boy, he would be called Eric

If dd had been a boy I would have called him Alfie.

I really liked Esme for a girl, I wish I had used it tbh.

Never had a girl but my girls' names were are Mariana and Clara.

Was always sure if I had a girl she'd be called Grace... have 2, neither of which are Grace!

A boy would have been Angus, Fraser, Liam or Nathan.

Im going back 20+ years but these were all vetoed

Nancy/Kitty/Tabitha/Alita/Islay

Dominic/Toby/Edmund/Cruz

Names I didn’t use but liked - this is 25 years ago. I knew I was having a girl.

Cecily, Rowan, Eleanor, Francine.

DD1 is Taliah.
I really liked Sheridan (not sure why) for a girl originally and Oliver for a boy.
I'm currently pregnant with b/g twins who will be called Roman and Eleni.
Originally, we liked Elias and Adelina. I decided Adelina was too long and DH decided Elias just didn't feel like "his name"
