Because 20 month old dd thinks that's what we should call the new baby when it arrives.

Isn't there a poster called Sherby on here..she might think it is a good name!

I try never to post anything negative on mumsnet, but personally I feel that unless it was a middle name you may like to consider something a little less "unusual" as a first name.

TurkeyLurkey · 04/02/2008 21:50

only if your surname is Fountain. yum.

BarbaraWoodlouse · 04/02/2008 21:50

I think it's one of those names that works just as well for a girl or a boy

That's great- it is so funny what they say!
Sherbert is very original- there probably won't be many kids with the same name!

DS's suggestions for our new baby have been
Maccapacca
Bob the builder (that one comes up a lot)

dd (18mo) said LaLa

hunkermunker · 04/02/2008 21:51

Only if you use "Dalek-Spinning-Top" as a middle name.

Sidge · 04/02/2008 21:52

Ah, I think it's quite sweet.

BroccoliSpears · 04/02/2008 21:53

I was wondering about Lemon as a middle name.

OP posts:
Sidge · 04/02/2008 21:53

Or Dib-Dab?

Lulumama · 04/02/2008 21:55

if your surname is fountain ...

when i was pregnant with DD, DS wanted to call her Angelina Ballerina or if she was a boy, Crusher !

madamez · 04/02/2008 21:56

Well Bert is nice. Bert-ram, Al-bert, Sher-bert. All lovely names. Ofcourse you might decide to shorten it to 'Sherry', which ofcourse is not unlike Terry.

SlartyBartFast · 04/02/2008 22:14

sherbert dib dab ?

kittywise · 04/02/2008 22:20

Is this a joke?

BroccoliSpears · 04/02/2008 22:32

Not at all Kitty.
Doesn't everyone let their toddler name the new baby?

I think Whispa is a lovely name.

Or Texan for a boy.

jasper · 04/02/2008 23:23

fantastic.
Made me hoot with laughter.

MrsMattie · 04/02/2008 23:25

Sherbert is cockney rhyming slang for a cab. So good name for a future taxi driver, then.

kittywise · 05/02/2008 07:34

Whispa? How about snickers, I feel it's got a touch more class.

seeker · 05/02/2008 07:37

Ice-T's younger siste is Iced Gem.

OrmIrian · 05/02/2008 07:53

Only with lemon as middle name.
