Lillenna

She is 5 and gave the name to her doll. Maybe it already exists but I've never heard it and thought I would share it as its so cute!

I like it!

GoodbyeLondon · 07/01/2023 12:52

Aw that's very cute and it's no more out there than Elara, Eliara, Lyra, Lillibet etc.

When my dd was tiny, she named her doll Caradee (which again sounds like a name - I wouldn't even bat an eyelid if I met one).

Darkdiamond · 07/01/2023 13:58

When I was a child I called all of my dolls 'Hishla'...not quite as catchy!

It's beautiful!

Twoinapod · 07/01/2023 14:05

I’ve heard of Lilliana and it’s very similar so I don’t think it’s too out there

PortiasBiscuit · 07/01/2023 14:06

We had Nelly-Becket.. all one word! Never just Nelly.
No idea where it came from..

goldenfoliage · 07/01/2023 18:41

love it, but would never use it, feels a bit trendy
that said, it's approachable name that seems easy to pronounce. Bit like Lila and Helena/Ravenna I'm not really against it and if I met one IRL, it would probably be pretty

I seem to remember there was a winner of americas next top model called Caradee - the year they went to Spain 😄

No way! That's really funny. DD was really really tiny when she came up with that. Although if it really is a name, then maybe she had met one at nursery or something!

DurdleSnore · 08/01/2023 07:48

I know an Italian girl called Milena. It reminds me of that. Could definitely be a name, nn Lenna maybe? My daughter calls everything Bella.

Darkdiamond · 08/01/2023 12:17

My daughter has 3 'imaginary friends'. One is Chelsea Marks, the other is Moxy and the third is Pixie Village. These never change but her dolls tend to be random syllables that sometimes sound nice! Lilenna was a lucky one. I wouldn't use it but do think it's quite lovely! Maybe if there was a dad or grandad called Leonard it would be cute (entire imaginary family heritage being invented here).

OP posts:
PlaitBilledDuckyPuss · 08/01/2023 13:25

the other is Moxy

Is she a fan of 'Auf Wiedersehen, Pet'? Grin

Coffeellama · 08/01/2023 13:28

It’s Lilliana but said slightly wrong (like 5 year olds do), it’s cute but also a common trendy name.

I love it.

When I was a child I was determined I was going to call my future baby girls Kelina and Larana!!!!!!
I had friends called kelly and Georgina, and Laura and Leana - so could have been a mashup of their names.

Thankfully I'd changed my mind by the time I had my babies!

RambamThankyouMam · 08/01/2023 17:52

I like it! Sounds Scandi.

When I was a child I came up with the male name Oquit (pronounced Ock-witt) which I seriously considered until DH pointed out that it sounds like "fuckwit" Grin

MrsMitford3 · 08/01/2023 17:55

@Darkdiamond is it pronounced Lill-lenna?

HashBrownandBeans · 08/01/2023 17:59

My daughter had an imaginary horse called Delvey

StressyMcStressFace · 08/01/2023 18:14

When I was about 3 I named a doll Pitchopitchita. What do you think of that name?

(I had her for years and I still don't know how to spell it!)

Darkdiamond · 08/01/2023 18:25

@PlaitBilledDuckyPuss possibly, she is a bit random, my 5 year old!
@Coffeellama do you think so? We have a Liliana in our lives which she pronounces fine so Lillenna seems a bit different. I've never heard if it before. Do you know a Lillenna? Would be cool if you did!
@SaintLoy that is so cool! Thanks for sharing!
@Theemptychair23 Larana is beautiful!
@RambamThankyouMam or 'Aw, quit!' as they say in Ireland!
@StressyMcStressFace it has a certain sound for sure 😀
@GoodbyeLondon caradee I'd really cute!
@MrsMitford3 yes Lill-lenna

MrsMitford3 · 08/01/2023 18:27

My DC had toys with incredibly imaginative names.

Blue-y, Red Ted, Christmas Ted, Special Teddy etc
You get the picture...

Darkdiamond · 08/01/2023 18:42

Haha @MrsMitford3 my son adds a y to whatever species the soft toy is. Doggy, kitty, fishy, spidey, mousey...

It reminds me of a Donovan song

Lalena (pronounced Lalania. Pretty name.

It sounds lovely. Definitely a name that could be used.

It's a bit like Lowenna, Elowen, Kerensa - I hear Cornish vibes
