Girl would have been Annie - but it's a boy?

Hiya I'm 30 weeks pregnant and have no short list. I have 4 children already and this will be my third boy. If he was a girl he would have been Annie.
I find boys names impossible, my husband likes quite traditional names, I tend to lean towards either vintage grandad names or slightly on the boho side.

I like Bodhi - DH would never agree
If I was cooler I quite like nature names - River, Hunter, Forrest and Oakley for example - although I couldn't pull anything like that off lol.

What might I like? Hit me with all the ideas - obvious and not xx

If you love Teddy call him Theodore, Teddy while he's young and can graduate to Theo or Theodore when he's older

AppleKatie · 03/01/2023 08:37

^^yes or Edward.

worth bearing in mind that by time baby is an adult adult Teddy’s will be a lot less rare than they are now!

I've always found Alexandru a cool name. Sounds quite tradition as it's a mix of Alexander and Andrew but a bit different

Also would something like Alaric work?

Yes. Teddy as a standalone name is currently the 26th most popular boy name in England and Wales.

Edward is a classic . Register Edward. Then call him Teddy while he's little. As he grows he can choose Teddy or Eddie or Ted or Ed or Edward.

If you like Teddy, I've known of a 'Tedmund' before that went by this. It's old English (not made up!) and means 'protector of the land' apparently.

As PP said, Theodore also works but this name has become really popular recently so you may want to take that into consideration.

MerryChristmasToYou · 03/01/2023 09:41

Danny

If you combine the numbers of babies registered as Theo and Theodore it's by far the most popular boy's name of the past few years
