Talia (although I think I’d spell it Thalia) or Hannah

PritiPatelsMaker · 28/12/2022 21:23

I like Hannah but it was my DGM's name so I might be biased Wink

Fivebeanchilli · 28/12/2022 21:27

Aida - I really like Ada. I don't like Aida, despite loving the opera, because I think most people will pronounce it like Ada instead of eye-EE-duh and she will constantly be correcting people.
-Hannah/Hana - nice. A bit dull but nice enough
-Lily - pretty
-Lina - is it Leena or Line-uh? That confusion would put me off
-Maya - this one also has pronunciation issues but I like it more than the others
-Talia - it's ok

I would go for Ada if it was an option. Otherwise Lily or Maya.

IET · 28/12/2022 21:29

Agree with Ada over Aida (is that eye-ee-da)?

Hannah is nice too and I quite like Maya, although I used to work with a really cheeky one (in a secondary school)

MajorCarolDanvers · 28/12/2022 21:32

Hannah and Lily are my preferences

Luana1 · 28/12/2022 21:34

Aida - ok
Hannah/Hana - lovely classic name
Lily - pretty but very popular if that bothers you
Lina - it's the name of the most annoying person I ever worked with so has negative connotations for me, I'd prefer Selina
Maya - love this name

Talia (although I think I’d spell it Thalia) or Hannah

I thought that Talia was pronounced TAR - lee -uh (rhyming with Narnia) and Thalia was THAIL-ee - uh (rhyming with failure).
That's how everyone I know pronounces them...

KangarooKenny · 28/12/2022 21:38

Aida - I prefer the spelling Ada.
But my pick would be Hannah or Lily.

Idhrenniel · 28/12/2022 21:52

Hannah for sure, very classic and lovely sounding

Mumofgirls2017 · 28/12/2022 22:07

Talia is beautiful

It is as a short form of Italia.
Pronounced Tal-ya, with an almost silent and soft "ee" before the soft ya ending.

glittermoomoo · 29/12/2022 06:11

Hannah

Luredbyapomegranate · 29/12/2022 12:07

Hannah is by far the best

-Aida - a bit hard and overused popular - it’s usually Ada so this spelling will be annoying

-Hannah/Hana - Hannah if you do, it’s a solid name

-Lily - overused and wet

-Lina - nothingy

-Maya - overused and 3 pronunciations

-Talia - Meh

upinastar · 29/12/2022 12:10

Talia is a lovely name

Enko · 29/12/2022 12:11

Aida or Talia imo

I like names to be a bit unusual

No, the 'Th' in Thalia is just pronounced as 'T'. Like in Thomas.

quietnightmare · 29/12/2022 12:17

Aida - beautiful but don't like nn 'aid'
-Hannah/Hana - too many
-Lily - too many
-Lina - Lena yes, Lina no
-Maya - mayonnaise
-Talia - lovely don't like nn 'tal'

DuchessOfSausage · 29/12/2022 12:21

Hannah

Aida - first aider
Hannah/Hana - Hannah
Lily - nice but has been very popular for ages
Lina - Lena is better but there are lots of popular short L names
Maya - not keen, Lots of Mia and May type names popular
Talia - not sure

custardbear · 29/12/2022 12:22

Aida is lovely
(Ada is old fashioned )
Talia is lovely

Tempyname · 29/12/2022 13:24

Hannah and Lily. I don’t think it’s ‘unusual’ now to have an ‘unusual’ name to the end that it’s become common to have something no one has heard of/known one of. A classic is always a classic in my view.

Hannah or Anna
