Very hillbilly-esque

PopcornAndPeanutsAndChocolateAndTea · 13/12/2022 16:40

I much prefer Hank(ie)-Joe

bibbiddybobbidyboo · 13/12/2022 16:40

Can picture lil ole' Frankie Jo with a Reed sticking out his mouth and playing the banjo.

bloodywhitecat · 13/12/2022 16:44

Possibly cute as a 2 year old but not so cute when he's an adult.

AuntieMarys · 13/12/2022 16:58

Awful. Hyphenated names always are.

BorisJohnsonsHair · 13/12/2022 17:08

Not my cup of tea. Think he will probably be labelled as a trouble-maker. Sorry.

Purplemagnolias · 13/12/2022 17:10

Can we just stop double-barrelling first names?

But is Frankiejo any better?

ditherydotty · 13/12/2022 19:57

Joe is fine, no need for Frankie and double barrelled first names are awful imo

Let's also add 'using two names as one' Grin

Luredbyapomegranate · 13/12/2022 21:22

No, double barrelled names are only for the French. He sounds like a brand of frozen pizza.

Penguinsaregreat · 14/12/2022 22:38

It’s a no from me.
I agree with the poster who said it sounds like an American chain restaurant.

ElizaSkye · 15/12/2022 02:47

Clearly in the minority here but I like it!
I wouldn’t hyphen though and would use full names. Known as Frankie to you.

Franklin Joseph would be my pick.

but I don’t hear Frankie Joe as hillbilly at all, it sounds like a swing name to me!

MrsTerryPratchett · 15/12/2022 03:16

He is either a gangster or a rodeo clown.

But I assume you live in a three-bed semi in the UK. Not New Jersey or the Appalachians.

BlueSuffragette · 15/12/2022 03:37

Really awful

OhamIreally · 15/12/2022 07:29

No

WuTangGran · 15/12/2022 07:31

Brother to Wanky-Ho maybe?

Luckingfovely · 15/12/2022 07:44

Oh it's just terrible! I beg you, please don't Grin

hattie43 · 15/12/2022 08:01

Awful .
People will take a view on him before he even walks in the room .

HaveYouSeenNancy · 15/12/2022 08:13

I've an uncle Frank, middle name Joseph. They're both lovely names and Frankie-Joe is cute, but I can't see it carrying through to adulthood. (He would of course have lots of options with his name as adulthood approached though.)

Berlinlover · 15/12/2022 08:17

It sounds like he comes from a trailer park in Mississippi.

Halburg27 · 15/12/2022 08:32

I love Frankie for a girl but not for a boy for some reason.
I’d just go with Frank Joseph

Purplemonkeyandbananas · 15/12/2022 15:47

It’s very unisex! Too much unisex for my liking. Sorry!
And I find -ie endings very babyish

Longdarkcloud · 16/12/2022 22:41

What about Banjo? That way you avoid the double name

winonarose · 23/12/2022 22:05

I like it and can't see anything wrong with it

Is your surname Walton ?

Essex, surely?
