Classic but not super common boys name

I like the sound and vibe of the name Alexander, but would prefer something less common. It doesn’t need to be really rare- I’d prefer it if everyone has heard of it. Something where there’s less likely to be lots in the class. Without meaning to offend others, not keen on names I think of as more trend-led/of the moment like Arlo/Albie/ Roman. Not keen on what I’d think of as cheeky chappy names like Ronnie/Alfie. Not keen on more 80s names I see suggested on theses forums like Simon/Peter/Thomas. Names like Vincent/Felix/Quentin bit too left -field for me. Like Laurence but can’t use.
If you didn’t die of boredom reading that, please help !

Emmett? I love it.

I have a Jonathan and I also looked at Alexander if we had another boy. I’d been swayed over to Alistair though as it being a little more unusual but I think I would have bottled using it. Having a girl after all so that conundrum is over!

Peter or David. Both classic names that won't date yet haven't been very popular for a couple of decades. See also Nicolas, Jonathan, Christian, Edmund

If you like L names that sound like Alexander here were my choices:
Lazlo
Leander
Lysander - went with this, he loves his name.

I liked the military connections (military family) and his friends call him Zander. Think you have to have quire a fall confident son to carry this name off (he is). It's a larger name to carry.

Hes 12 and been at 2 primaries with 600 odd pupils and not met another one and now at 9 form high school never met another. So is rare.

David, Andrew and Hugh were on our list for boys: proper names but not currently trendy. Didn’t use any of them as we have girls (with equally classic but rare names.)
