First thoughts on Noa Valentina for a girl? I'm flipping between loving it and thinking it sounds like a porn star 😂

I think its lovely, Noa is such a nice name and if you like Valentina then go for it, especially if it means something to you. Go with your gut.

My husband likes the name Skylar-Rose and i had the same worry about sounding like a porn star.

dandelionthistle · 03/12/2022 21:15

I love them both individually, but I'm not sure they flow well together. I think Valentina might just be a bit too long for a middle name.

strawberry2017 · 03/12/2022 21:22

I used to love Valentina until I heard it said in a broad Yorkshire accent 😂
It didn't work!

Glitterbiscuits · 03/12/2022 21:24

She will spend her life explaining it's not Noah and that she's female.

Kanaloa · 03/12/2022 21:33

If Noa is a definite then Noa Valentina is as good as anything. I agonised over my kids’ full names but I’d be surprised if five people outside the family even know their middle names. She’ll be called Noa Thomson or Noa Smith the overwhelming majority of the time, so if you’re settled on that Valentina is a nice middle name.

NalaNana · 03/12/2022 22:43

I absolutely love Noa and wanted it if this pregnancy turns out to be a girl but my fiancé veto'd it 😠 I played with Nia for a while which he loves but think we're going to end up with Freya!

Nah. She really won't.

I'm a registrar. She'll be fine.

ReallyDarling · 03/12/2022 23:42

I really like it! But as already mentioned, Noa will probably soon sound very dated as a short, vowel heavy name ending in A.

It sounds fresh now but is very much in the style of Ada, Ida, Isla, Ava, Mila, Nola, Nova etc

And let's face it, adults never use their middle names so I'd focus on nailing the first name! Sorry to be negative - it is lovely!

Purplemagnolias · 04/12/2022 08:54

Noa is a definite. Just deciding on middle name.

You never use middle names. I don't even have one. So use any name you like.

I think Noa is a beautiful name - feminine and classy.

DillDanding · 04/12/2022 08:58

Love Noa. Meh about Valentina but as it’s a middle name, it doesn’t really matter what you choose.

shasha21 · 04/12/2022 10:27

I love it! And it annoys me when people say that Noa shouldn’t be used because Noah is popular. Noa and Noah are both long-standing names with strong histories. Both Old Testament names, and Noa is a great namesake for a daughter, standing up for women’s rights in a time when women didn’t really have any rights! Noa has just as much right to be used as Noah. I think it’s strong and different while still being familiar and dignified, as well as aging well. It sounds beautiful with the longer and more feminine Valentina. 10/10 love this name OP!

Purplemagnolias · 04/12/2022 10:43

Yes. I also find the sound dated f the name, ending in -a very beautiful and feminine.

SallyAnn32 · 04/12/2022 10:47

This is a beautiful name!

MintyGreenDreams · 04/12/2022 10:49

Prefer Noelle Valentina

CaptainCastillo · 04/12/2022 14:41

I love Noa Valentina! I don't get the Noa/Noah Issue, but thats because where I live (Holland) Noa and Noah are very common both on boys and girls. Apparently In the UK they're not?

Well anyways, I think Noa Valentina Is a pretty name and you should go for It!

DuchessOfSausage · 04/12/2022 15:07

@CaptainCastillo , Noah is very popular in the UK and has been for about 15 years. Noa is hardly used at all.

CaptainCastillo · 04/12/2022 19:16

@DuchDuchessOfSausage Yeah I knew Noah was popular but I thought Noa was too because where I live Its so common and popular aswell.

DuchessOfSausage · 04/12/2022 19:35

It's the #1 name here so Noa would probably be in a class with Noah A and Noah B, and probably get called girl Noa.

Noa-name would put me off. (using a different word to avoid using a taboo word)

Luredbyapomegranate · 05/12/2022 23:46

I like it

But the confusion with Noah would put me off Noa

Luredbyapomegranate · 05/12/2022 23:48

DuchessOfSausage · 04/12/2022 15:07

@CaptainCastillo , Noah is very popular in the UK and has been for about 15 years. Noa is hardly used at all.

It is recently.

I think there will be classes with Noa J and Noah J, and Noa B etc

DuchessOfSausage · 06/12/2022 12:26

@Luredbyapomegranate , only 179 registered in England & Wales last year, compared with 4525 Noahs, so highly unlikely.

DurdleSnore · 06/12/2022 13:14

If you’re dead set on Noa for a first name then Valentina is a lovely middle name, although like other posters, I do prefer it the other way around. Valentina is gorgeous and it feels a bit sad to be hidden as the middle.

ouch321 · 06/12/2022 13:31

Never heard of Noa.

Assumed it was a typo for Noah and you were asking about boy named.

Valentina is pretty.

Purplemagnolias · 06/12/2022 13:51

I think there will be classes with Noa J and Noah J, and Noa B etc

I also doubt that it will become soo overused as that. I only know one Noa. It's a beautiful name!

Valentina is also nice but will end up as Val or Tina.

Go with Noa!
