We have a list of potential names but really need to narrow down the list a little more. Middle names are flexible, first names not so much.

Interested to hear what others think sound the best. (Some of these are my choices, and some are my husbands, so there is an element of friendly competition here too!!)

(Appreciate these name combos will seem very traditional/popular and not everyones cup of tea, but we're okay with that!)

Dylan Thomas Pink
Arthur William Pink
Charlie Edward Pink
George Daniel Pink
Miles Daniel Pink
Thomas Michael Pink

Charles, not Charlie.

Thomas is a lovely name but Tom Pink doesn't sound great so I'd rule Thomas out as a first name.

My favourite of your list is probably Miles.
Miles goes with four of your middle name options (not so great with Michael).

Arthur William would be my least favourite - nothing wrong with it, just seems a bit boring, a bit underwhelming.

I like Mike's best but I've only commented to say I need your surname it's amazing 🤣

Haha @ghostsandpumpkinsalready trust me, you don't! Its been so tricky to find names that "go" with it! My fave girls name was Penelope but that had to change after getting married! 😄

@Barleysugar86 is it? I’ve never heard Art as a nickname for an Arthur. My Arthur is at school and he doesn’t get called any nicknames. My granny calls him Arthy sometimes but that’s the only nn he has.

I've known two grown Art's (for Arthur), but I guess it's like Beth from Elizabeth, people probably don't use it unless you want them to.

If you google Art and any common surname it pulls up lots of Art's short for Arthur. I don't think it's all that unusual.

I took Arthur off my baby names list because Art + my surname would have sounded silly. I do think it's worth the consideration but I do love the name otherwise :)

NCFT0922 · 06/11/2022 18:31

@Barleysugar86 oh god it sounds silly with our surname too so I’m hoping my Arthur doesn’t become an art 😂😂

Thomas Pink is a shirt company!

blondie87 · 06/11/2022 18:41

Miles or Arthur are lovely!

Forfukzsake · 06/11/2022 18:48

George is my favourite of those names. It would be high up on any list of names for me. I also like Charlie a lot but not as much as George.

Charlie Pink sounds better than George Pink though I learnt AFTER having and naming DC that how first names sound with middle names or surnames is irrelevant.
So I'd go with George.

Pinkballoons5 · 06/11/2022 20:22

So true, you very rarely go around calling someone by their full name. And they'll probably end up getting called "Pinky" like my husband anyway.

Arthur William is lovely.

Miles Edward

Dylan Michael or Edward

FayCarew · 07/11/2022 12:31

Dylan Thomas Pink - really dislike Dylan, and it looks too much like you're a big fan of the poet
Arthur William Pink - ok
Charlie Edward Pink ok
George Daniel Pink - ok
Miles Daniel Pink - ok
Thomas Michael Pink - shirts

pick the name that goes best without the middle name. My favourites are Tom or Charlie
