Lucy or Stephanie

Ruth and Maureen. Thankfully mine are two girls so the names aren't entirely out of the question, but they're not ideal!

The midwife who delivered my son 21+ years ago was so lovely I bought her some flowers.
Her name was Bernadette (Bernie).
The one who delivered my daughter was absolutely horrible.

I did want to name my child after my GP at the time - she was an excellent dr - but it was a firm nope from DH. Her name was Barbara. Grin

justasoul · 02/11/2022 01:18

(I actually still like Barbara but I understand why husband said no)

TheBirdintheCave · 03/11/2022 12:33

DS would have been Pippa if I named him after my midwife, lol.

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 03/11/2022 12:34

Funnily enough the Midwife who delivered dc1 was called Bernadette Grin

GinIronic · 03/11/2022 12:38

I’m not sure anyone introduced themselves during my labours.

Britannia- Doctor who performed emergency C-section, and Sergio- neonatal doctor who sorted their intensive care.

They were born while we lived overseas and the system is very different to UK, no midwife or health visitors.

scotstarstrikestwo · 03/11/2022 12:45

I had an emergency csection and it just so happened the anesthetist was called Andrew but that name was long since decided for him

Sprogonthetyne · 03/11/2022 12:59

Either 'blond bitch' or 'lovely ginger midwife', I assume they have real name but don't have a clue, so that's what they are in my head.

(Blond bitch is probably a very nice person out side of work, but also not good at listening to patients, which I believe contributed to me ending up with a EMSC)

spiderlight · 03/11/2022 13:37

My midwives were Denise (who was lovely, kind, gentle and just perfect throughout my pregnancy and early labour) and Cheryl (who was equally fabulous but in a much more no-nonsense way and got me through the hard bit). Not sure either name would have suited my DS though!

Pamela 🤣🤣 DD was her 700th delivery!!!! (Pam was 61 at the time).

RandomCatGenerator · 03/11/2022 16:02

Jayasree or Juhi, both women.

Juhi a price butch who made me cry.

Jayasree was amazing and I sent her chocolates afterwards.

RandomCatGenerator · 03/11/2022 16:02

I really regret not using my wonderful fertility doctor’s name for one of mine. Doctor was Jude.

BiscuitLover3678 · 03/11/2022 20:57

Is it bad that I have absolutely no idea what my midwives were called?

IDontDrinkTea · 03/11/2022 20:59

I’m a midwife - I’ve been privileged enough to have 3 babies named after me so far in my career ☺️

Swearwolf · 03/11/2022 21:03

I have no idea with my first! I'm very impressed you all remember. With my second, she was delivered by the midwife I saw throughout my pregnancy, so I remember her name was Beth. Which I could happily call my child!

Sniffypete · 03/11/2022 23:13

Dr that delivered dd was Spanish and I think she was called Ana. Midwife was Lucy and the anaesthetist was called Toby.
Toby would've been an option if dd was a boy anyway.

Sgtmajormummy · 03/11/2022 23:28

I WAS named after my midwife, who saved my very premature life with baby CPR.
Nobody uses it, I go by my middle name and the midwife’s lovely, very feminine name only appears on official documents.
I had different shifts for my own births and other things on my mind than asking their names. Lack of pain relief, for one…

noproblemlove · 03/11/2022 23:29

1st- Angela (even though I had a boy)
2nd - Stupid Cow (she didn't listen to me at all)
3rd - Hayley or Kimberley (both were amazing!)
