Fine tuning a girls full name

So DH & I are working on constructing a girls name (don't know baby's sex, 2week to EDD), and we're almost there! Just playing with the order & middle names now.

First name is Aurelia, as we're both archaeologists & DH has worked in Rome a lot, so there is personal history/connection there. I also like that it can be broken down with various nicknames as the bub grows.

We have two middle names and are debating using both as we can't decide on one (I'm not overly worried by having two middle names as I used to include my confirmation name as a second middle name, and I've had various friends with multiple middle names or double barrel surnames). Emily to honour my DH's grandmother; and/or Janine to nod to my Aunty, who has been a 2nd Mum to me, lifelong nurse and emergency worker volunteer, but is having a rough time, I'd really really love to honour her.

Surname starts with M and fits well with Aurelia Emily, less so with Janine.

Ultimately thinking of Aurelia Janine Emily M. Initials would be AJEM.

Thoughts?

Got a different thread for a boys name :)

How about Janie instead ?

Penguinsaregreat · 26/09/2022 16:16

It’s a mouthful but if you like it that’s all that matters.

It is a mouthful indeed! But maybe that will help calm me when full name is deployed in moments of disciplining fury.

Middle names are never used, so I wouldn't worry about it sounding a mouthful. My son is 7 and doesn't even know he has 2 middle names 🤦‍♀️

I prefer Janine to Emily with Aurelia because Aurelia Emily is too vowel heavy for me. But I would use both. No problem to have two middle names, esp if they are meaningful.

SkyeBlue28 · 26/09/2022 22:46

I like the name you have chosen and I don’t think initials that include middle names are used so often.

Aurelia Janine Emily M. is a lovely name for a little girl.

I think you're well overthinking it.

All names are fine unless they shorten to highly offensive acronyms or are otherwise repulsive, like Adolf. Pick names that mean something to you, as you have done and all will be well.

Aurelia is terrible. Janine sounds quite fresh these days though.

BoudiccaVibes · 26/09/2022 22:56

Aurelia is wonderful!

I'm a classicist so partial to a historical name.

Luredbyapomegranate · 27/09/2022 08:11

I wouldn’t chose Janine generally, but it’s interesting in the mix - you deffo need it between Aurelia and Emily to break up the vowels

It’s totally fine - lots of people have two middle names

One thing about Aurelia is nice though it is, there are really quite a lot of them about now (is there a Disney character??) - and generally a lot of long girls names starting and ending with a (Aurora, Annabella, Aria, Arabella etc) so if you want it to stand out pick another Roman name.

blameitonthecaffeine · 27/09/2022 15:28

I think I hear it differently to others because I think Aurelia Emily Janine sounds lovely and better than Aurelia Janine Emily which, to me, makes Emily sound like an uneccessary add on. Aurelia Emily Janine flows and sounds complete to my ears. As does Aurelia Janine.
