Muslim boy names uk

Mummyxxxx · 11/09/2022 18:32

Im looking for a strong masculine Muslim boys name. So far I have been recommended
Khalid
Zayn
Zaid
Hakim
Riad
Riaz
Rashid
Arshad
Asad

My number 1 option is Khalid as I think it sounds nice and masculine at the same time.

  • The reason I want a more masculine name is because my husband is quite masculine so likely my boy will grow up to be the same.

My favourites off your list would be
Zaid
Riad
Riaz

Names I’ve heard more recently which i like/suit the boys i know are

Laith
Afraz
Ahsan

Kanaloa · 11/09/2022 18:57

I think Zaid is nice! I would probably avoid Zayn because it reminds me of the 1D pop star. Not that it’s a super bad association, but I wouldn’t want it to be the association people made iykwim. Riaz is also nice!

I recently met a little boy named Ayaan which I just thought was lovely.

BlueThingie · 11/09/2022 19:00

My favourite on your list is Rashid.

beststepforward · 11/09/2022 19:04

I like Hakim
What about any of the Prophet names? Zakariya, Solomon, Noah, Idrees, Ismail, yusuf

Not sure what you mean by "masculine" tbh.

Just to warn you - tough dads often have highly sensitive sons! It’s a thing. If you expect your son to be just like his dad, you’re setting yourself (and your son) up for a tricky time.

Horcruxe · 11/09/2022 19:17

Hamza
Yusuf
Isa
Musa

MadamMaltesers · 11/09/2022 19:22

Mashallah beautiful names, insha'Allah I'm also expecting a boy and stick for names. So far we have;
Zakariya, Zubayr, AbdurRahman, Khalid, and Yusuf.

itssquidstella · 11/09/2022 19:23

Tariq and Ismail are two of my favourite Muslim boys' names.

Mummyxxxx · 11/09/2022 19:25

@beststepforward I mean masculine as just a strong Muslim name in general. The reason I say this is because a name can basically change someone's life experience which is true.

Khalid yusuf and zubayr @MadamMaltesers

@Ayupchuck1 @Kanaloa I like Zaid and the meaning of the name

@Saynotothefishtank I mean I live near Manchester and it's not very pleasant so you would have to be tough here for a boy.

I like both Omar and Ali, @Mummyxxxx . I don't particularly like Khalid, but that's because I worked with one and everyone seemed to say it differently.

I know a Zayn (no sure how he spelt it) and he's a lovely lad, and the name seems uncomplicated.

Omar and Umar are basically the same name, but the arabic pronunciation is different, I think. Omar makes me think of the famous actor, Sharif, but that wasn't his birth name.

Mummyxxxx · 12/09/2022 23:19

Surname is Mahmoud so quite a strong ethnic surname. I like Laith Omar/umar Khaled and Ali
