We love Indie but don't know if its too unusual it goes well with other girls names .

Yuk. A woman in the village has a skanky dirty hairy small dog called Indie. How about India and she can shorten it if she wants to?

Soproudoflionesses · 30/08/2022 19:56

I know 4 girls called lndie so not uncommon - l quite like it

QuiltedHippo · 30/08/2022 20:00

It's 124th most popular girls name, much higher than I thought. India is 200th so would actually be more unusual.

I like it, not the sort of name I would use but it goes with your other names well

I’d go India with nn Indie. It fits lovely with the style of names of your other girls :)

Rapidtango · 30/09/2022 13:12

Your daughter's names are lovely. Indie is a bit samey with Emmie perhaps and very ubiqitous at the moment.

How about Cassandra 'Cassie
Jemima
Miriam
Ianthe
Imogen is nice, but Immie and Emmie definitely too much Grin

One of my least favourite names. Unfortunately its my nieces name too, she's 9. It's not actually a name, has no meaning.

PinkLime · 30/09/2022 14:49

I like it op. It’s not unusual.

I don’t really get the poster above who said ‘it’s not actually a name, had no meaning’

It is a name because lots of people are called that. That’s kind of how names start out, even bog standard names like Sarah, Charlotte, Jane etc were new once & why does everything have to have a meaning?!

Luredbyapomegranate · 30/09/2022 15:00

Not unusual - a lot of them about.

It sounds like a nn to me, so I’d go for India or Indigo - she might want a more grown up
option as an adult.

The PP means it has no cultural history.

Sarah is biblical and has been borne by lots of interesting women over millennia, Charlotte comes from Charles and has again belonged to lots of interesting characters, real and literary, for centuries.

A history like this adds layers to a name.

The PP didn’t say you have to think this is a benefit, just that she does.

@Pemba mba India is a potential candidate .
Others are Lyla
Emmie and Heidi

Are those names other potential
names of her siblings?
of they’re not your three daughters’ names what are they then it gives posters more of an idea of if Indie goes ?

Whiskeypowers · 30/09/2022 15:09

An sorry just seen they are indeed your daughters’ names

I think Indie goes but not sure if it’s too close to Emmie?

I don’t think India goes with your other three though 😬

SkyeBlue28 · 01/10/2022 19:47

I like it and I think it goes so well with your other girls names
