Sounds like a mattress company or a new type of yoga where you have lattes while doing it

Itsthelookitsthelook · 25/08/2022 17:43

I know a dog Bodhi (age 5) named after the Point Break character, and a baby boy Bohdi (spelt incorrectly IMO and it annoys me every time I see it!)
I think it is really having a surge and there'll be tons of them by the time yours is at school, depends if that bothers you.
How about Baxter, Bentley, Brody

YellowRoad · 25/08/2022 17:45

Why would you want to call your child "Body"? 🤔
In written form it looks like an Indian name too (nothing wrong with that, but if you're not Indian, it's kinda weird).

MsSquiz · 25/08/2022 17:45

There is a Bodhi who goes to nursery with DD (2.5 years old) and she loves him.

I quite like the name, that and Brody/Brodie

Crimea · 25/08/2022 17:45

Not what you asked for but if you have doubts on Bodhi you could consider Rodaigh pronounced the same way, traditional Celtic name

Notsurethisisok · 25/08/2022 17:46

My nephew is called Bodhi, my dd (6, speech delay) calls him bogey. Not deliberate/ malicious, just a pronunciation thing.

FiddleFigs · 25/08/2022 17:53

I love the name Bodhi - I know of 2, both boys and both British Indian. Both also under 5, so it seems the name is slowly gaining in popularity. (Also the name of a character in Star Wars Rogue One, to add to Point Break.)

Other off-beat B names for boys:

Breoc
Brego
Brennan
Beau
Brin or Bryn
Breon

Beau Selecta!?

Dragonskin · 25/08/2022 17:56

I just think of Point Break

debwong · 25/08/2022 18:08

Would you consider another B name, like... Bhalonz?

HamlinHamlinMcGill · 25/08/2022 18:11

@debwong 🤣🤣🤣🤣

FlyingSaucerss · 25/08/2022 18:17

Such an ugly name 🫣

JamesWilbyFanClub · 25/08/2022 18:23

It sounds like a brand of period pants.

Oysterbabe · 25/08/2022 18:42

I thought if the baby on Casualty too. Then Point Break.

WaltzingWaters · 25/08/2022 19:30

I love it! But then I’m a surfer beach bum!
definitely more a boys name but I’ve heard both boys and girls named Bodhi.

StopStartStop · 25/08/2022 19:34

Bodhisattva, 'a person who is able to reach nirvana but delays doing so through compassion for suffering beings.'

Or Bodhi from Point Break.

Luredbyapomegranate · 25/08/2022 19:44

It’s a MN joke. You know this, right? Right?

If you are serious then only if you are a hardcore yogi or practising Buddhist. And even then I wouldn’t.

SeanChailleach · 25/08/2022 20:25

I met a girl with this name but didn't see it written down. I didn't know about the Buddhist connection, and only thought of Bodie and Doyle in the Professionals. I don't like the sound of it and can't figure out why.

BettyBoomerangBoo · 25/08/2022 21:55

I love it. Only met one (he'd be about five now).

demokitty · 25/08/2022 22:37

I like it. The youngest boy in The Skelton Key (Netflix) is called it, though it's spelt Bode.

That’s a different name, though.

BronzeSage · 25/08/2022 22:52

No.

Axahooxa · 25/08/2022 22:53

I know a few bodhis. Girls, boys (and actually a lovely dog too).

LunchBoxPolice · 25/08/2022 23:19

Awful

BellaEllaWella · 25/08/2022 23:22

It’s too fashionable at the moment - I keep hearing it. People think they’re bring cool and unusual but it’s going to boom in 5 years there will be a couple in every reception class.
