Names to go with Ivy

If we have a daughter, I want to give her the middle name Ivy after my mum

I'd appreciate any ideas for first names

Dh loves Rose/Rosalie but I don't think Rose Ivy flows very well

I'm toying with Hope Ivy or Alessandra Ivy
but not sure if they really work either

smartiejake · 21/01/2008 18:27

Blandmum · 21/01/2008 18:30

helsy · 21/01/2008 18:37

Tilsley?

Nbg · 21/01/2008 18:40

Sorry but I love Araminta purely because of the shortened version Minty.

I do love Rosalie too. Very pretty.

ArchiesMama · 21/01/2008 19:15

I would never of thought of scarlet but a litytle girl Archie wa sin SCBU with was called Scarlet and her big sister Darcy ...great names!

Whizzz · 21/01/2008 19:19

helsy - that's what I was going to put too !!

3andnomore · 21/01/2008 21:32

oh darcy...one of my (many) favourite names...saying that, there is a little girl in ys nursery called Darci (and whilst that mkaes no difference to pronunciation...it doesn't look right to me, lol)

Mavornia · 21/01/2008 21:33

Thanks - some fabulous combos there - going to mull over them for a bit and then come back

Talk about being a muppet, I was actually sitting sounding out Tilsley as a name until it dawned on me...

Rosanna Ivy sounds quite nice and could be shortened to Rose or Rosie.

Charlotte Ivy

Rowan Ivy

Elinor Ivy also sounds nice.

janeite · 21/01/2008 21:41

Now, Rowan Ivy is LOVELY.

ArchiesMama · 21/01/2008 21:43

3andnomore...yup if i ever have a girl im going with Darcy and ur right about the spelling

MrsEi25 · 21/01/2008 21:47

my nans name is ivy margaret i think it sounds nice the other way around:
margaret ivy (maggie for short) people dont really used the middle names either from my experience
xx ei xx

3andnomore · 21/01/2008 21:49

Another idea...if you don't want to use Ivy as a first name, how about adding another middlename....we went with teh "traditional" rule of choosing 2 middlenames (names with a family meaning, etc...)

the any first name with ivy in a good combination with 3. name would work...well, pretty much anyway

Rosalin Ivy Louise, for instance....

3andnomore · 21/01/2008 21:50

Or even Rosalie Ivy Louise.....
