Anneleise is nice.. Can use Annie as a nickname which I think is sweet

Comedycook · 13/08/2022 20:12

Anneliese definitely. So pretty and underused...has lots of nickname potential.

Dislike Harriet. Find it quite clunky

dmask · 13/08/2022 20:15

Harriet is lovely and I love the nickname Harri. I know one and she is awesome!

Riverlee · 13/08/2022 20:16

Both lovely names.

Anneliese feels more continental whilst Harriet feels more classic English.

meadowbleu · 13/08/2022 21:16

They're such different names. I'd keep saying each of them over and over with your surname(s) and writing them down and writing the initials and see what feels right.

Have you a middle name in mind too?

Luredbyapomegranate · 13/08/2022 21:17

Anneliese

Harriet is nice enough but a bit twee

LizzieBet14 · 13/08/2022 21:25

Annaliese ❤️

NinaBalatka · 13/08/2022 21:26

Both nice. I am related to a Harriet who is known as Hasbo...

DisforDarkChocolate · 13/08/2022 21:28

I love Harriet.

The other one is nice but hard to spell.

pilates · 13/08/2022 21:29

Definitely Harriet
dislike Anneliese

Newuser82 · 13/08/2022 21:50

Harriet

Mumofgirls2017 · 13/08/2022 21:56

Anneliese is gorgeous!

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 14/08/2022 00:42

Anneliese.

DramaAlpaca · 14/08/2022 01:42

Harriet, definitely.

Anneliese is fussy, frilly and many people won't be able to spell it (as this thread shows) or pronounce it correctly.

DaisyJoy1 · 14/08/2022 07:04

I LOVE Anneliese! I do like Harriet, but not really the full name, so much. I just love the nickname Hattie. Harriet definely doesn't have the same beautiful vibe as Anneliese - when I think of an Anneliese, I imagine someone beautiful and interesting and well traveled and intelligent and classy. It just has such a lovely feel to it.

Harriet is nice, but a lot of people consider it a bit horsey and dull - which I suppose, in comparison to Anneliese, it is. (Again, I do like it, just don't think it can really compare to Anneliese).

FayCarew · 14/08/2022 12:08

Harriet.
Anneliese is too frilly, and will be spelt as Annaliese, Annalise, Annelise, Annalisa etc

losingit31 · 14/08/2022 12:16

I like both and have known both, but I think as they are 3 syllables it kind of depends what your surname is too.

@DaisyJoy1 the Harriet I know does ride horses!

SE13Mummy · 14/08/2022 12:30

I prefer Harriet. The teenaged one I know doesn't ride horses.

Eliode2000 · 18/08/2022 10:38

anneliese

ButterRose · 18/08/2022 12:12

They are both very different in every way I feel Harriet to me is very strong, sassy and fun loving and Anneliese is very soft feminine and frilly sounding it's really up to what you prefer but I personally love Harriet

margaritasbythebeach · 18/08/2022 12:20

Neither 😳
Harriet is so frumpy
Anneliese would constantly get misspelled and mispronounced - just look how many people have misspelled it even on this thread which is about the name and spells it out in your OP!

Redsharks · 18/08/2022 12:42

Really love them both; I went to school with an Annalise and she's the only one I've ever met or heard of! Harriet is gorgeous too IMO... is there a middle name to see which pairs with that perhaps?

Redsharks · 18/08/2022 12:43

I spent Anneliese differently so as PP said, this might get misspelt a lot however...

SallyWD · 18/08/2022 13:14

I prefer Annaliese. I don't like Hatty!

Hobbesmanc · 18/08/2022 13:59

I love Harriet but it is a little pony club. Hattie is sturdy and affectionate though.

Annaliese is a lovely name. Quite Germanic like Heidi or Gretchen.
