Nameless aby boy born yesterday

I had a beautiful baby boy yesterday, but we are struggling to name him.

Some of the names we quite like (or at least semi agree on) are

Milo
Reuben
Jude
Alex

Do you have a preference, or anything else similar that we may not have thought of? I'd love some thoughts (please be gentle though... I'm still very sore!!)

Congratulations OP!

I have a Reuben so I'm biased but I think it's a great name! (He was nameless for 5 days!) Also love Alex/Alexander.

Personally not so keen on Milo (I have a lot of Australian family so I associate it with the drink) or Jude (can't get past the Holocaust stars association). But a lot of people love these names so there is nothing wrong with them.

Other suggestions,
Caleb
Finlay
Jago
Jonah
Owen
Matthew
Jacob

Congratulations!! I love Alex and Jude. The other 2 are dog names to me! Sorry to anyone with kids with those names

MassiveSalad22 · 10/08/2022 18:21

JOEL ❤️ congrats

resm · 10/08/2022 21:26

I have a toddler Jude and he wears it really well. His brothers are Isaac and Thomas.

RuthW · 10/08/2022 21:52

From your list i prefer milo.

Barrawarra · 10/08/2022 21:55

Jude is my fave too. Like them all though except Milo, personally that’s in my ‘dog name’ category and maybe cute for a wee one but not so much an adult wishing to be taken seriously.

Hobbesmanc · 12/08/2022 15:50

Congrats- you may have chosen by now. Reuben and Jude are lovely. Also maybe Jesse or Rafael/Raphael (love Raffi)

Maybe too obvious but August sound very fab

Luredbyapomegranate · 12/08/2022 16:33

Congratulations !

They are all nice, although quite popular if it bothers you - Alistair, Joel, Jerome, Jethro, Miles, Ronan, are less popular alternatives

Dartmoorcheffy · 12/08/2022 16:34

Congrats. Jude would definitely be my choice. I love that name.

viques · 12/08/2022 19:21

Congratulations.

Conrad
Jethro
Diamond

Hobbesmanc · 15/08/2022 09:54

What did you go for?

MsAnnThropic · 16/08/2022 18:46

Sorry I'm late back to this. Life with our newest family member has been busy!

There are lots of lovely suggestions here. Lots of which are already names in our family.

I work with a large paediatric caseload, so lots are a no just based on connotations from work!!

We are now between Milo and Reuben (DH vitoed Alex, and my other children have decided they hate Jude, even though I quite like it!)

We're stuck between the 2, with my younger 2 children at loggerheads!!

Aww good luck choosing, pleased you didn’t go with Jude, I am not a fan, and it’s really popular. Go back through the name book, you might find the ideal name for your gorgeous new baby boy. Many congrats OP.

Recycledblonde · 16/08/2022 18:59

My dog is called Milo, I named him after a gorgeous Aussie temp who I was wildly in lust with thirty plus years ago. He was a big rugby playing lad who made my heart, and everything else flutter even though I was going out with the man who became my DH.
I still love the name and congratulations on your bundle of joy.

MamaWingsIt · 16/08/2022 19:09

Reuben has my vote as I have a Reuben, a kind hearted 4yo ☺️

Huge congratulations on your new baby! I hope you're enjoying the lovely newborn bubble!

Madamecastafiore · 16/08/2022 19:10

Reuben

Derrymum123 · 16/08/2022 19:22

Rueben. Absolutely fantastic name. Congratulations. ❤

Derrymum123 · 16/08/2022 19:22

Rueben. Absolutely fantastic name. Congratulations. ❤

But spelt correctly.

miamiibiza · 16/08/2022 19:24

Reuben or Jude

Or Reuben Jude!

CormoranStrike · 16/08/2022 21:22

Xander for me - slightly similar, but less common, than Alex.

FuckMyActual · 17/08/2022 07:42

Flip a coin for those two names

Hidingawaytoday · 17/08/2022 07:45

Of the two I'd go for Reuben. Congratulations OP.

PewterHeart · 18/08/2022 18:03

Reuben 100%

DaisyP24 · 21/08/2022 10:57

All of your names are on my list! My favourites are Reuben and Alex but all of them are lovely.

I also like Max, Rowan, Myles & Noah.

user1492757084 · 22/08/2022 19:11

Alex or Alexander are my faves.

David
Jude or Oliver - cute and think of Judith Durham and Olivia Newton John
Milo is also sweet.
