Middle name help!!!

I've picked a middle name I love and me and my ex broke up due to his constant arguing during my pregnancy. However he really wants the baby's middle name to be his nans name.
His mum also keeps saying thank you for picking her mums name.
However, I want to name her after the person who's actually helped me in my pregnancy.

I feel so stressed she was born yesterday and I completely refuse to give her a middle name at the moment because I feel so expected by everyone

Could his Mum be trying to manipulate you into definitely using the name? I'm thinking if she knows you don't want to use it and that her son really wants it, perhaps she knows that by pretending that it's a done deal you'll feel too awkward not to go ahead with the name. (Maybe I'm a cynic but my family are all a bit like that).

Either way I wouldn't use the name, you'll only live to regret it.

Could you use both? DS has two middles names. One is to honour someone and is not a name I'd pick normally in a million years. It's so rarely used that it's not an issue.

Congratulations! Give the baby your surname, and the first and middle name of your choice. His mother has named her own children, so why should she dictate your baby' name?

Can you use both? In my family two middle names is the norm

Absolutely give baby your surname, dont tell him when you are registering.
And you could compromise by having two middle names, my kids do.

Congratulations !!

call DD what you want to call her. YOUR surname, your choice of names.

you know you'll always be there for her, him being there for her seems a lot less likely. MIL is trying to pressure you into it, she had her babies, this is YOUR baby.

use the name of the person that actually supported you in your pregnancy. Tell dickhead, you're not naming your daughter after someone who would probably be appalled by his behaviour and even more so not after someone who would have supported it, so it's a NO.
