I am due to give birth to my son and i have chosen the name Luca i want his middle name to be Stanley-Aaron after my dad Stanley and my partners mum Sharon so it would be Luca Stanley-Aaron ( surname ) the problem is i am not sure if Luca Aaron-Stanley sounds better what is everyones thoughts on this also the name in general?

Love the name Luca! I think Luca Stanley Aaron 😃

Goodnewsday · 26/07/2022 22:06

It’s a nice name ☺️ The Aaron first is softer sounding I’d say so I’d choose that

DotDotDotDotDot · 26/07/2022 22:19

I think they sound fine either way around actually. I like Luca a lot as a first name. Did you mean to have a hyphen in there? If so I don’t like it, 2 middle names are fine, the hyphen is a bit naff.

ChagSameachDoreen · 26/07/2022 22:21

Double-barrelled middle names are awful.

Luca = puker.

Aaron Stanley is nice.

Blueberrywitch · 26/07/2022 22:24

I think Luca Aaron Stanley sounds better, and no hyphen. As Aaron sounds more like a middle name and Stanley more like it could be a surname so seems better last.

Did I understand correctly that the Aaron is after your mum Sharon though? The link seems to only be that they rhyme? Is there maybe a last name to use? Aaron is lovely on its own but I’m just not sure I see the link to Sharon. If it’s about honouring his side of the family then maybe her last name or her dads name could work too?

SundayTeatime · 26/07/2022 22:41

I wouldn’t hyphenate. If Aaron is named for Sharon, don’t you need to have the S name first? Stanley Aaron. However, Aaron and Sharon don’t sound very similar, so it seems odd to use Aaron. Sharon is a male name in some countries. You could use it as it is, without changing it to Aaron.

Sandysandwich · 26/07/2022 22:48

I think it works both ways round.
Slightly prefer Luca Aaron Stanley as Luca Stanley runs into each other when I say it and becomes Lucas Tanley

FlissyPaps · 26/07/2022 22:58

Luca Aaron Stanley

OneCup · 26/07/2022 23:02

I prefer Luca Stanley Aaron.
I found the two As in a row make the two names blend into one.

Runningupthathill01 · 26/07/2022 23:04

Can’t you save Sharon to use when you have a girl?

AliBaliBears · 26/07/2022 23:49

Luca Stanley Aaron sounds best to me, otherwise the end of Luca and beginning of Aaron merge together.

Definitely don't hyphenate!

Bigchezemakeme · 26/07/2022 23:51

You can’t just use a randomly rhyming name!

either way pretty much no-one will ever speak the whole name out loud so doesn’t matter

Clairewentoverthemountain · 28/07/2022 18:29

Definitely no hyphen!

Both ways are fine.

Just lose the hyphen.

Really cheapens the name.

Agree with this actually

StopFeckingFaffing · 28/07/2022 18:32

Luca Aaron Stanley sounds better to my ear but realistically he isn't going to get called his full name very often so I wouldn't waste too much time mulling it over

No need for the hyphen

MrsOwainGlyndŵr · 28/07/2022 18:37

I wouldn't say Aaron and Sharron rhyme. Arran and Sharron do though.
Aaron is pronounced Air-on.

Butterbeer4All · 28/07/2022 18:37

Luca Stanley Aaron

Luredbyapomegranate · 28/07/2022 23:50

Never a hyphen in a first name - it’s appalling

Luca Stanley Aaron sounds best to me, but the other way round is fine too

You know Aaron is pronounced AIR-run? If you want a name to rhyme with Sharron you could have Arran like the islands which is a unisex name

Sandysandwich · 29/07/2022 08:29

I have never met an Aaron that says it Air-on they have always rhymed with Sharon. Where do people say it Air-on?

SundayTeatime · 29/07/2022 08:37

Aaron is pronounced Air-on and always has been - I grew up in the North, in a church-going family, and now live down South. The biblical figure is Air-on. If you want Arran, as in the island, best write it as such.
