I have a Finn, (and an Irish DH) so I’m very biased! But I obviously think it’s a great name

He gets called ‘Ben’ occasionally when people mishear but no one has tried to call him Finley

We are in SW London and it’s fairly popular… not one in each class but most people say they know another boy called Finn…

he was also one of the first to be able to write his own name..! Felt sorry for all the Theodores and Alexanders in his class with so many extra letters to learn!

It's a popular dog name. That would rule it out for me

That's weird. I suppose that would rule out Rex and Tyson too.

In the legends Finn goes hunting with his two dogs , Bran and Sceolan.

Other characters include Oisín and Oscar- Finn's son and grandson. And Diarmuid , who elopes with elopes with Gráinne , to Finn's chagrin.

I live in Ireland and wouldn't say any of these names is especially common, although I know a couple of Diarmuids and one Finn.
