Spanish boys names for a Spanish/British family

Hello!

We’re expecting our second son next year. My first child is called Camilo.We’re looking for Spanish names that work well for English speakers too.

So far we have a few on our list but I’m not sure if it is love!

Mateo
Valentín
Álvaro

Any thoughts or other suggestions are welcome!

Mateo is lovely. I can’t see how even your most monoglot Brit would struggle with that.

David also works well in both languages.

Matias works great in both languages. The pronounciation will be different (but that will be the case with pretty much any name you choose).

I'd avoid most names with a jota otherwise so Juan, Joaquin, Alejandro... And sadly Javier, which I really like.

Inigo! Love that name - would use it in a heartbeat if I had obvious Spanish links. And it will be familiar to a lot of us Brits thanks to Inigo Jones and "Inigo Montoya" in TPB (although I think the Spanish vs British pronunciation of the name might be slightly different).

Having said that, Mateo is lovely too - so cross cultural and Valentin is growing on me (Alvaro is a bit more unusual here - not sure if I like it or not, but it does sound nice with Camilo imo)
