Thoughts on list of boys names

Expecting a baby boy and really struggling on names. I like really traditional names and totally don’t care if they’re popular whereas my partner wants something unusual but not weird. He only likes Gabriel (his fave) or Lawrence off the list below, which I like but prefer the others! Main problem with Gabriel is that I really don’t like ‘Gabe’ but would want to use a nickname as three syllables seems a bit formal for a baby 😊 I like Lawrence and love Laurie but not sure if it’s a bit posh?

Just wanted to get some thoughts and of course suggestions too!

I wanted to call my DS1 Joshua but his dad wasn’t keen. Joseph is my DS2’s name and my DS3 is called Benjamin. It seems I go for traditional, biblical names and I really like Jacob too.

I like Gabriel. I dont think he would automatically get gabe. People tend to call you what you ask to be called. you could try other archangels? Raphael, uriel, michael.

I like Laurence and It’s no posher than Gabriel or Joshua.

The first name is usually spelt Laurence by the way, Lawrence is the surname.

How about Josiah nn Jo ?
if your favourite name is Joseph and he wants something unusual that might work.

Gabriel No due to a boy from my secondary going to prison for a violent and horrific crime called this, also it has catholic connotations.
Joshua No naughty boys name
Joseph Not terrible
Jack No naughty boys name
Benjamin Like
Lawrence (Laurie) Meh

What does this mean?
It's a name from the Bible, which, last time I looked, is used by all Christian denominations.

Joshua, Joseph, and Benjamin are also Biblical names.

@mathanxiety , Until fairly recently some names were far more popular with certain denominations.

In my age group, Daniel, Joseph, Samuel and Gabriel were considered 'Catholic' names

I love Joseph. Joshua and Benjamin are ok. Jack is a “naught boy” in my mind, and I’m not keen on Lawrence or Gabriel.

I LOVE Laurence/Laurie. Gorgeous name!

I like them all, except Jack. There were far too many mean boys called Jack at school.

Joshua, Joseph, & Benjamin are my favourites. The only one I really dislike is Lawrence but I don’t know why, I just don’t like it! I think Joseph & Joshua are especially lovely. I have a godson called Joshua and we always sing Joshua Joshua nicer than lemon squash you are.

Laurence is the feminine version of Laurent.

Like Florence is to Florent.

For a male, I'd definitely use Lawrence!

I love Joseph.

How about Lucas?
