Just that really! Which do you prefer and why? Thanks!

They are all nice but it should be Fin or Finlay

JinglyJane · 24/04/2022 20:38

Love them all but I thunk Flynn edges it .

JinglyJane · 24/04/2022 20:39

Oh just saw you out fynn but Flynn. In that case I will for for Thomas

Cherry299410 · 24/04/2022 20:39

It’s definitely more unusual I agree- but I really prefer the name spelt Fynn rather than Finn, it’s a visual thing haha.

Three great names.

Alexander is my favourite of the three, and I like Alex, Xander and Sandy as short forms. It's a classic, won't date, easy to spell, easy to travel with. An all round great name.

Finn is also good. Maybe some will say it's 'trendy', and maybe it will date, but it's a lovely name. I wouldn't use Fynn spelling though - it will forever be confused with Flynn. I also like Findlay/Finlay.

Thomas is another classic, straightforward name and I like Tom.

CloseYourEyesAndSee · 24/04/2022 20:44

But visually Fynn looks weird and ugly Confused

SunshiningBoo · 24/04/2022 20:47

I was going to say my favourite was Flynn but then I saw it's Finn with a y. So I prefer Thomas.

helpmum2003 · 24/04/2022 20:50

Alexander then Thomas.

Wouldn't use Fynn due to spelling confusion.

Lismoa · 24/04/2022 20:50

I'd read Fynn as fine, like Loch Fyne. If you are going for Finn I would spell it that way. Alexander is lovely too.

pitterypattery00 · 24/04/2022 20:50

I feel Fynn is essentially a made up name with the same pronunciation as Finn (I could be wrong but I don't think Fynn is a known alternative spelling?).

Thursday37 · 24/04/2022 20:55

Fynn is my surname, so I wouldn’t use it as a first name. It’s always miss-read as Flynn.

Cherry299410 · 24/04/2022 20:56

Maybe Flynn is an option?!

It’s not made up but it’s an unusual spelling.

Cherry299410 · 24/04/2022 21:00

Maybe it’s a regional thing but I know two “Fynn”s…I really didn’t think it was unusual but good to know though for sure !

All 3 are great.

I have a Thomas Joseph son it's clear what my favourite would be!

But I also love Finn.

Alexander is a lively classic name too.

You could always use 2 and have

Thomas Alexander
Finn Alexander
Alexander Finn
Thomas Finn

Bolognia · 24/04/2022 21:02

Fynn is lovely, it reminds me of the author.

Tigertigertigertiger · 24/04/2022 21:03

Please not Fynn.

AntarcticTern · 24/04/2022 21:04

Alexander is my favourite, I like Alex too.

TallulahTumeric · 24/04/2022 21:05

I have a Thomas. I absolutely love the name.
I also like Flynn and Alexander but not keen on Fynn/Finn.

Thomas is a classic name but not overused. My Thomas is the only one in his school.

Mumofgirls2017 · 24/04/2022 21:08

Alexander

Classic, strong, good nn’s

Whatelsecouldibecalled · 24/04/2022 21:13

I have an Alexander (Alex) Finn was my shortlist too

It's a cool surname! Never heard of it before.

Theoldwoman · 24/04/2022 23:18

All lovely names but Alexander is slightly more my favourite.

KirstenBlest · 25/04/2022 11:19

Thomas

SatinHeart · 25/04/2022 11:31

Alexander and Thomas are great classic names. I think Thomas is my favourite.

I'm not a fan of Flynn/Finn/Finley at all and they are super popular to the point of being overused if that bothers you. (never seen the spelling 'Fynn' before and I think you'd be forever correcting it)
