Roxanna I think Is a lot nicer than Roxanne

Daliah is ok

Fleur is just bluur. Flora is quite nice though.

Dahlia - caftan wearing, long hair, spiritual
Roxanne - foxy, confident, has own song
Fleur - private school, polite, pretty, sporty

Choose a daughter which best fits your family.

Fleur is pretty and classy - Roxanne feels like the opposite to me and I just think of the song. Dahlia is quite sweet for a little girl, possibly a bit frilly for my taste and not sure about it on a grown woman.

KylieCharlene · 15/04/2022 08:46

I'd go with Roxanne. Its a strong name, suits all ages and has an edge.
Fleur reminds me of a cheap household cleaning product and also 'urgh'.
Dahlia will have pronunciation issues - here it would definitely be DALE-YEH plus I don't really like the flowerConfused

MinoucheSapphic · 15/04/2022 10:25

The sound of Fleur doesn't really appeal to me, personally. Roxanne is nice but I don't love the association with the songs (either "You don't have to put on the red light" or "All she wanna do is party all night" - neither is a particularly nice association). I prefer Roxana. Dahlia is my favourite of the three. There is pronunciation ambiguity as PPs have mentioned, but I don't think it's a huge issue since most people will hear the name before they see it in writing.

Dahlia is Dah-lee-a

I've never heard it as Daylia..?

It's a popular garden flower and pronounced Dale-ya, so a lot will use that pronunciation. FWIW Fuchsia is pronounced Fewsha, not Foox-ya

Fleur is the only decent one on the list

whatausername · 15/04/2022 17:05

Fleur - ugly noise when said by anglophones
Roxanne - red light
Dahlia - nice

Foxy Roxy Grin sounds like an ad for a sex worker

I really like Fleur and Roxanne, though prefer Roksana

I'm not a fan of Dahlia

BlueOverYellow · 15/04/2022 17:21

Delia is easier to work with pronunciation wise than Dahlia; her name will be pronounced very differently all the time with Dahlia.

Fleur sounds like Urgh and kind of pretentious if you're not French.

Roxanne makes many start singing about red lights.

tearinghairout · 15/04/2022 20:17

Roxanne says more Cyrano de Bergerac to me, although I know the song, of course.

Delia is so dull - Dahlia is lovely. I know a grown-up Fuchsia, which is another great name.
