what other girl names might I like that aren't far too close - I already have a DD with one of these names and can't use the others as they are obviously far too similar but I struggle to think of any other names I like as much as I clearly love this kind of sound / vibe....

thanks for any inspiration!

My DD has one of the names you mentioned, if I had been blessed with another I would have gone for Lia or Francesca

Is Alannah too similar?

What about Hannah, Lola or Layla?

Lena (too similar if DD is Lana - fine with Clara)

threadslayer · 12/04/2022 12:24

thanks for all the help! As usual, the names I like best are still too similar to be practical - my DD is Lara, and I don't think we could have a name that rhymes....

We also have quite a dull, single syllable surname, so think we need quite an elegant but not fussy name. I have really strong negative reactions to almost all names for some reason, and am searching for the lovely feeling I had when we thought of 'Lara' as it's just so lovely to my ears!

Other names I quite like:

Georgia - I think I like it, my husband likes it a lot
Harper - but not the connotations
Sienna - too popular
Summer - probably not right

Middle name will be Pearl for family reasons.

thanks for nice feedback on Georgia, I think I really like it, but it doesn't make my heart sing. Would be nice to let my husband have some influence this time though WinkGrin

I like Ariadne but think it probably sounds a bit forced with our surname sadly
