My two favourite names! But would these be ok for brothers?

To add, not twins!

2 of my kids have those names 😁

Luredbyapomegranate · 27/03/2022 22:44

It’s a bit twinny

Justkeeppedaling · 27/03/2022 23:23

Too samey. Find a couple of names that start with different letters.

ODFOx · 27/03/2022 23:43

My Grandfather was John (nn Jack) and his brother was James (nn Jim).
Absolutely timeless classic names. Good choice OP.

pastypirate · 27/03/2022 23:51

They will be called Jack (op surname initial) and james (op surname initial) their whole school lives. Dd1 had 5 jacks in her year group at primary. Only one james though and I don't think dd2 has any james in her year.

MandyRiceDavis · 28/03/2022 00:23

They are both fine names. My very slight reservation is that - traditionally - James is formal and Jack is kind of informal i.e James and John or Jim and Jack. I'm guessing that the old problem of letters arriving addressed to Mr J (surname) will have disappeared entirely by the time they are in their teens.

MandyRiceDavis · 28/03/2022 00:27

I meant to add that if these are the names you love, go for it because my reservation is down to my advanced years.

SardaJay · 28/03/2022 08:20

Thanks everyone, good points! Yes my reservation is they might be a little too similar, and therefore both get mixed up.
