Help needed in choosing between 2 girls names

Hi I am fond of classic traditional names and what was a long list has now been whittled down to two names, Alice and Grace. Out of these two names which would you choose? No negative comments please as I've really struggled with girls names so its looking like it will be either of these that I go with (I'm always open to suggestions if there are other names similar to these that you think I may like. Thank you x

Alice, definitely. It is classic.

TracyMosby · 08/03/2022 18:58

Alice.

Either:

Grace Elizabeth
Alice Catherine

Both beautiful names. It is a personal choice.

Louisa is also a name you may want to consider.

MajorCarolDanvers · 08/03/2022 19:20

Both are lovely.

Grace has a slight edge for me.

Alice Smile

They're great names. Elizabeth and Catherine are also lovely. In fact, personally I like them even more.
Elizabeth Grace, Catherine Alice.

WinniePig · 08/03/2022 19:30

Alice

ANUsernam · 08/03/2022 19:32

Alice

WeasilyPleased · 08/03/2022 22:34

Alice is beautiful. Grace always sounds a bit greasy to me.

FourChimneys · 08/03/2022 22:39

Alice. I'm biased as one of the most intelligent, strongest and loveliest women I know is called Alice.

Grace sounds a bit wishy-washy to me, sorry.

TangerineClay · 08/03/2022 22:41

I like Alice

Luredbyapomegranate · 08/03/2022 23:19

Both fine, Grace maybe a bit less common as a first name than Alice (check), otherwise I’d go with whatever goes best with your surname.

Frances, Esther, Lois, Edith, Beatrice, Louise, Katharine, Constance, Mary, Emma, Jane, Hope, Hannah would all be less common alternatives

AnnaSW1 · 08/03/2022 23:55

I love Grace. I'm not keen on Alice

FayCarew · 09/03/2022 12:12

Alice is much nicer than Grace

SirSamVimesCityWatch · 09/03/2022 12:14

Alice Elizabeth is the winner for me!

But all lovely names OP.

Hikoridikori · 09/03/2022 12:46

Alice.

Alice is more feminine, Grace is a bit hard sounding.

ISmellBurnings · 09/03/2022 13:06

Alice because I don’t hear it half as much as Grace which is always hyphenated on to a first name so makes it overused.

Thanks to everyone who's replied so far it's really helping xx

Another vote for Grace, one of my favourite girls names.

LaLaLouella · 09/03/2022 16:03

Alice is lovely!

Grace is also a nice name but I'm not sure how well it works if you have a child who isn't graceful! I also think it has strong religious undertones too, I guess it depends wether that bothers you or not!

DoucheCanoe · 09/03/2022 16:05

Alice Elizabeth.

I really dislike Grace - my niece gets called Graceless by some because she's a clumsy little muck magnet Hmm

brokengoalposts · 09/03/2022 16:10

Grace, I've never liked Alice, it's just so blah.

Paddingtonsmarmlade · 09/03/2022 16:11

I prefer Alice. Alice Elizabeth sounds lovely.

GlitteryGreen · 09/03/2022 16:13

I really like them both, but do agree with others that Grace conjures up an image which may not necessarily fit the child as she grows.
