Skye, Holly or Florence?

GirlyGalore · 07/03/2022 22:47

Still undecided on a baby girl name. Her sisters are called Rosie and Poppy.
This week I'm favouring Skye, Holly or Florence.
Middle names will be Eleanor Juliet (either way around) and our surname is 1 syllable starting H...
Help please!

Holly is my favourite of the three, but I'm not sure of the way it sounds with your other daughters. Too many -y sounds? So I would choose Florence.

Or Juliet as a first name - love it.

I think Holly fits perfectly with your other two girls.

LaTangerina · 08/03/2022 09:15

Skye goes better with the sisters names, but I love Florrie as a nickname & it goes well with the sisters names too.

irishfarmer · 08/03/2022 11:10

I like Holly best. I don't like Skye, I think of Sky sports news said in a very dramatic voice.

MissCarolina · 08/03/2022 11:25

My favourite is Holly, especially with your other daughters names.

GlitteryGreen · 08/03/2022 11:56

I'd go Holly because it goes with your other 2 names :)

RuthW · 08/03/2022 12:20

Holly goes best with the other two as they are all plants. Florence doesn't go at all

StrychnineInTheSandwiches · 08/03/2022 13:43

I like Skye the best.

Holly is okay. Nice friendly name.

Florence is staid and stuffy.

celebrityskin · 08/03/2022 18:02

Florence (or Holly)

DramaAlpaca · 08/03/2022 18:53

I think Skye with your other two names.

liveforsummer · 08/03/2022 19:48

They are all great names and all go well with the middle names, so whatever you are drawn to although personally I'd try to move away from the plant association but number 3 so probably Skye as favourite then Florence and holly would be my least favourite choice based on your other DC's names

Luredbyapomegranate · 08/03/2022 23:23

Florence 💯

Skye has gone South. Holly is very meh, too much with your other girls’ names and a bit weird unless for a Christmas baby.

HeadlessGummyBears · 09/03/2022 03:43

@propertealady

Skye - hippy dippy parents Holly - classic, Christmas, maybe a bit 90s Florence - very middle class, David Cameron's daughter

I think three flower names is lovely, and it would be a bit weird to go non-flower after two previous flower names but worried Holly and Poppy sounds too similar. Would you consider other flowers? Primrose, Marigold, Lily?

Lily, Poppy and Rosie do flow together nicely without sounding exactly the same.

Was thinking Holly and Skye are also in keeping the more botanical/nature theme.

Kanaloa · 09/03/2022 04:06

They’re all lovely names. I would probably choose Skye just to move off the flower theme. Holly & Florence are both nice too though!

DogsAndGin · 15/03/2022 22:02

Florence

chattycaterpillar · 15/03/2022 23:47

Skye :)

Caramelcap · 16/03/2022 08:07

Holly Florence ❤️

Maggiesgirl · 16/03/2022 08:09

If you like Skye, what about, Eriskay, Canna or Isla

KayEmAy · 16/03/2022 19:35

Team Skye

user1493494961 · 16/03/2022 19:45

Florence is lovely, Holly OK, but dislike Skye and it doesn't 'go' with her siblings.

peaceinourtime · 16/03/2022 22:34

Florence is nice. As a nickname there is always Flo though personally I would go for Flo Jo, it sounds nice. I would't worry about the negative connections to the runner if any. Flo Jo was a product of her time with the performance enhancing drugs. Also for instance the name Kelly a common nickname is Kel Jo even were there is no Jo as a middle name.

Busybeetle · 16/03/2022 22:50

I like Florence. Skye is not to my taste and I find Holly quite dull. How about -

Rosie, Poppy and Fern
Rosie, Poppy and Fleur
Rosie, Poppy and Eden
Rosie, Poppy and Violet
Rosie, Poppy and Scarlett
Rosie, Poppy and Iris
Rosie, Poppy and Hazel
Rosie, Poppy and Lyra

libby09 · 17/03/2022 22:52

I like them all but slight preference for Holly.

BeanStew22 · 17/03/2022 22:54

@Vanillabourbon
