Really like both Matilda and Amelia. Sibling Noah.

Would Matilda Amelia or Amelia Matilda be too much? If not which sounds best out of the two?

Thank you.

Both lovely names but they do sound a bit much together I think. Amelia Matilda probably sounds the better of the two. What about adding an extra middle name in to make it flow better, Matilda Charlotte Amelia or Amelia Sophie Matilda?

Classica · 16/02/2022 19:14

Matilda is the better name. Don't like the mealy sound in Amelia.

Luredbyapomegranate · 16/02/2022 19:31

I’d go fo Matilda Amelia, it goes much better and when you take into account the whole Amelia/Emilia/Amelie/Emily/Emmeline group of names, Matilda has got to be less overused

MsTSwift · 16/02/2022 19:41

Amelia is so so dull through over use. Sorry

DogsAndGin · 16/02/2022 19:52

If one is a middle name, rather than part of the first name, it hardly matters. No one ever actually says the middle name, or calls the child by their first and middle names together. Matilda Amelia is lovely x

I like both Matlida and Amelia and I would only be worried that they are so much overused, trendy these days.

Same as Noah, although I love the name!

Lemonlemon88 · 17/02/2022 08:22

I like both but i dont really like two names together that end in the same sound.

Maybe Matilda Emily or Amelia Madeleine?

Zillamop · 17/02/2022 08:34

I prefer Amelia so would put it first.

Blubells · 17/02/2022 17:09

They're both very very popular and may well sound dated soon.

Fl0w3ry · 17/02/2022 17:44

Matilda is the nicer name of the 2. But I prefer the sound of Amelia Matilda.

Hadenough21 · 17/02/2022 17:51

I never understand why people feel the need to be rude about a (perfectly nice) name when a poster has said they love it and want to use it Hmm so rude.

Both names are lovely OP. They maybe do sound a bit of a mouthful together but how often will they be said together really? Amelia Matilda flows slightly better but I don’t think there’s enough of a difference in the flow to strongly choose one way over the other so go with your favourite Smile

Pipperleen · 17/02/2022 17:53

Jumping in to say that these were my top two - know they’re popular but just love them all the same.
Went for Amelia, no regrets!

sunflowerdaisyrose · 17/02/2022 18:07

I like them both, slight preference for Amelia. Amelia Matilda sounds ok - a bit of a mouthful but not too much.

Alicenwonderland · 17/02/2022 18:12

They're both lovely names. Amelia is definitely more popular, there are 4 in my daughters class! Don't know of many Matilda's though.

Fivebeanchilli · 17/02/2022 18:19

Matilda Amelia sounds lovely.
