Unless he arrives in February 14th!!

RedCandyApple · 09/02/2022 19:18

Nice

UserBot9to5 · 09/02/2022 19:19

Love ❤

Hellocatshome · 09/02/2022 19:19

I like it especially if he also has an Italian surname. Valentino Smith doesn't have quite the same ring to it.

danni0509 · 09/02/2022 19:20

Yes I love it!

Gigi97 · 09/02/2022 19:21

He will have an Italian surname ☺️ Thank you for the lovely comments so far …!

I love the juxtaposition of names from different languages and cultures. DDad has a colleague called Yakimoto Hamilton. Marvellous name!

Valentino is a great name for a hand Italian baby, particularly with an English surname.

Myturnatlast · 09/02/2022 19:26

Didn't do Valentino Rossi any harm, its a lovely name 😊

TatianaBis · 09/02/2022 20:36

I know one nn Tino - he's gorgeous.

SummaLuvin · 09/02/2022 20:39

I like it. Italian names are typically up my street. Also love Tino.

rubyandbel · 09/02/2022 20:42

My husband is Italian. It was one of my boy names. My daughters middle name is Valentina and our anniversary is Valentines day. Its a fabulous name, go for it!

BrimfulOfBaba · 09/02/2022 20:48

It'd make me think of Valentino the brand. A bit like naming a kid Versace or Gucci.

But you're aware it's an Italian Christian name - unlike Versace or Gucci?
Bellyups · 09/02/2022 21:01

Not keen at all, but I am in the minority

Same. Valentine is a nice name though.
Geamhradh · 09/02/2022 21:09

Sorry, but it's dreadfully outdated here in Italy. I've only ever known one, and he hates it. Vale is the usual nickname. 175 born in Italy in 2020 (the last year the figures were published) which gives an idea of its (un)popularity.

TatianaBis · 09/02/2022 21:11

So is Cosima, but it's chic here.

And no-one in Italy is called Sienna.

Luredbyapomegranate · 09/02/2022 23:12

NO Valentines etc, too much

And nobody has mentioned either, so that's OK.
toastofthetown · 10/02/2022 09:32

I don’t like Valentino. I don’t think that is an objectively bad name, but I just can’t warm to it, despite it seeming like a name I should like.

TatianaBis · 10/02/2022 11:27

@Geamhradh

Someone did mention names outdated in Italy.

I have mentioned both.

WhoppingBigBackside · 10/02/2022 13:18

Too long and will be Val or Tino. How about Vito instead?

TatianaBis · 10/02/2022 13:38

Vito is dim for Vittorio.

Enko · 12/02/2022 09:15

I dont mind it not overly in love with it either but wouldn't get a yuck from me either

liveforsummer · 12/02/2022 09:22

I love it. It's relatively popular where dc were born too with a slightly different pronunciation and agree that along with an Italian parent and surname it's absolutely fine. Wouldn't work so well for the Smiths from Slough. Doesn't matter if it's outdated surely, the Italian parent will know this and not care same as we use old fashioned names here and they have revivals
