I love this name. I think it's so beautiful, has an international feel (important as we live abroad) and also a religious link that we like. I think it's pretty and feminine and uncommon but not unheard of. I also love the name Annie as a nickname - Annie also one of my favourite names, so two in one. What do you think?

It's my name, so I think it's the prettiest name ever! It's usually shortened to Angel (my doctor calls me Angie, but he's the only one who does!)

nurserypolitics · 07/02/2022 11:56

It makes me think of Anjelica Huston, possibly the only other person I've heard with it. I think its lovely, but I would have thought Angie was a more likely shortening than Annie, but I do also love Annie.

Its gorgeous.

Ihopeyourcakeisshit · 07/02/2022 12:01

Rugrats Smile
I love it, but I'm 50+ and have a pink backpack with Angelica's face on it so I'm slightly insane anyway Grin

BowerOfBramble · 07/02/2022 12:03

I like it as a name, but it always reminds me of the green stuff that used to be used as a cake decoration - is that still around?

If a friend called her baby this though I'd love it.

RedCandyApple · 07/02/2022 12:04

I love it

And yes I thought of Rugrats too😂

RuthW · 07/02/2022 12:10

Love it shortened to Gelli

toastofthetown · 07/02/2022 12:19

I like Angelica. For me, I think Hamilton rather than Rugrats.

pradavilla · 07/02/2022 12:27

Reminds me of the naughty cousin from rugrats sorry. Her name was Angelica and she was not a nice little girl!

SummaLuvin · 07/02/2022 12:29

Same. Even when I read Angelica written down my brain goes "Eliiiiiizaaa".

Rugrats is pretty old though kids of today wouldn’t make the association. My kids haven’t heard of it.
Rosieposie101 · 07/02/2022 12:45

I LOVED Rugrats and Angelica was my favourite character. I'd totally forgotten about it! I wonder if this is subconsciously why I love the name Grin I even cut one of my doll's hair so I'd be able to carry around an ugly doll with sticky up hair (but her hair didn't stick up, so sad 😢)

Definitely makes me think of Rugrats!

17caterpillars1mouse · 07/02/2022 12:48

I like it. I've only ever met one (she'd be 17 now). I'm not a huge fan of Angel or Angie but Annie is a gorgeous NN

Allpenguinsarepingus · 07/02/2022 12:52

Cynthia the disaster of a doll :)
I think it’s a lovely name. Weirdly I feel like the bratty rug rats character helps temper any expectations of perpetual angelic behavior.
And yeah, no one her age will be watching rugrats unless it gets revived again.

buntywindermere · 07/02/2022 13:24

Love Angelica and would use it shortened to Ella if I ever have a girl.

alisoninwonderland · 07/02/2022 13:28

Agree with everything you said OP, I absolutely love this name too. Beautiful, classy, international.

Luredbyapomegranate · 07/02/2022 20:57

Lovely

The only downer is the potential of Angie as a nn..

Yika · 07/02/2022 21:41

Lovely. I think of anjelica Huston too.

PatriciaHolm · 07/02/2022 21:45

Makes me think of this!

'Same. Even when I read Angelica written down my brain goes "Eliiiiiizaaa".'

Me too. OP could even use that as a middle name!

Angelica Eliza (Surname) or Angelica Eliza Peggy (Surname)
