DH has suggested this name this morning, he loves it. What do you guys think?

Would probably pair with a one syllable middle name, maybe Hope or Joy.

I like it, prefer Vienna

toastofthetown · 04/02/2022 09:10

I like it, and Vivi is a cute diminutive.

MmeD · 04/02/2022 09:11

I love this and if I was having a daughter it would definitely be on the list.

LadyDanburysHat · 04/02/2022 09:12

It just makes me think of the drag queen the Vivienne

SummaLuvin · 04/02/2022 09:46

Not my cup of tea, I find it quite austere, but there isn't anything objectively wrong with it.

JustMaggie · 04/02/2022 10:50

I love it!

Ruibies · 04/02/2022 10:55

Whenever I see this name I always want to put more emphasis on the ENNE ending - but I'm not sure if it's supposed to just sound the same as Vivian.

I agree with PP that Vivi is cute.

OhGingleBells · 04/02/2022 10:58

Lovely name! I really like Vivienne Joy x

Jeschara · 04/02/2022 17:58

I like it. Vivienne Hope is lovely.

CafeConLechePorFavor · 04/02/2022 20:35

Love it.

Snowiscold · 04/02/2022 20:41

No. Just spell it Vivien. No need to stick extra letters on the end - unless you’re French.

tearinghairout · 04/02/2022 20:47

I like it. Also like Vivien but lots of women of a certain age were called after Vivien Leigh. But there is also that Vivien was a fairy - girlfriend of Merlin the magician, which is pretty cool.

Luredbyapomegranate · 05/02/2022 12:03

I do like it, it’s very vivacious!

And I like the French spelling in this case - probably because it differentiates it from the masculine form (which makes me think of Vivian the young ones..)

PrettyBluebells · 05/02/2022 12:13

I know one who is nearing 80, known her about 45 years and if you think of Hyacinth Bucket you're pretty much there. I think it's harsh sounding but if you like it, go for it.

toastiee · 05/02/2022 13:18

Thanks for the feedback! Yeah, I love it more the more I say it. Slightly worried she will get called Viv all the time - can't decide if that's cool.

We would call her Vivi at home though.

Adore it. She could be Vivi or Veni.

SisterAgatha · 05/02/2022 13:22

Oh it’s lovely! I feel like this about Genevieve as well. Beautiful

Powerpotpie · 05/02/2022 13:24

Viv good is very cool! I love the name Vivienne.

Snoopsnoggysnog · 05/02/2022 13:24

I don’t mind it but I much prefer Genevieve (nn Evie) or even Adrienne?

Powerpotpie · 05/02/2022 13:25

Viv is

Betsyboo87 · 05/02/2022 13:26

I have a friend who is Vivienne and called Vivi. I do like it but I think of Pretty Woman every time I hear it.

DramaAlpaca · 05/02/2022 23:48

It's quite nice. I do prefer the more simple English spelling Vivien though, it's less frilly.

toastiee · 07/02/2022 11:37

Do you say ViviEN or ViviUHN? Seems quite a slight subtle difference but distinguishable. DH is saying ViviUHN for the Vivienne spelling...?
