Middle name after miscarriages + Irish help

I had 2 mc's and this pregnancy was twins but we've lost one. Everything is looking great with this baby, so we are very excited! I would normally be one for thinking middle names aren't too important I barely use mine. But we want to pick something meaningful, not sure that's the right word, to show what the baby means to us. These are my thoughts:

Girl, Clara:
Joy
Hope
Faith
Grá (means love and my DSis who died young was called Gráinne) but

I don't know if that might upset me a bit, I think it might

Boy, Pádraig:
Éadrom (means light, but I'm not sure how to pronounce it)
Beannacht (means blessing - I like the meaning not the word really)
Cannot think of anything nice in English for a boy

Very open to suggestions in any language. Finding it harder to find something for a boy! I did suggest Lumière, DH wasn't sure but flat our said no when I told him about the Beauty and the Beast connection Grin

I think we are fairly set on the first names. I've loved the name Clara since she was a character in a book I read donkeys years ago. It's gaining popularity here, but not so much it would put me off. Pádraig I just think is a great name, it's not common but definitely known. My Grandfather who I adored was Patrick.

I'm not due for months so could possibly completely change my mind again. Also both Irish, living in Ireland, but both have a very poor grasp of Irish.

Do you mean light as in opposite of dark or opposite of heavy?

It's not Irish sorry but Gabriel? Or Nathaniel apparently means 'messenger from God' too.

Éadrom is ‘light’ as in the opposite of heavy, so not that. Light in the sense of the opposite of darkness is ‘solas’ ( pronounced ‘sulus’, roughly) Or what about ‘Loinnir’, (roughly ‘linnir’ in my accent) which means shine or gleam? Or ‘Gile’ (brightness)? Pron ‘gilleh’ with a hard g, as in gate’?

Or Réalt (star), which is sometimes used as a name, though usually for girls with a diminutive, as ‘Réaltín’?

@Tullig thanks, I knew I shouldn't just rely on google translate! I have a Gaeilgeoir friend who I was planning on running things by once I had more of an idea. I didn't do Irish passed primary school so it's very poor. Réalt is lovely, is that where Reidin would come from?

@lemonyfox doesn't have to be Irish, I like Nathaniel

Lots of ordinary Irish names also mean things like light, bright, or radiant — Niamh, for instance.

Laoise (lee-sha) - radiant girl - Lucy, Louise
Aisling - a dream or vision

For a boy, Fionn - comes from the old Irish word for white/brilliant light.
Luca - shining, bright
Benedict - a blessed boy

For girls you don’t necessarily need to go Irish @irishfarmer
Iris - means rainbow
Evelyn - means wished for/longed for child
Eva - means life

I like a PP suggestion of Fionn - I think it goes well with Padraig.

I’ve gone through lots of infertility and finally pregnant so I’ve been thinking along these names too (Clara also on my shortlist Smile I love Evelyn and it’s meaning but DH doesn’t unfortunately)

We had a pregnancy following a (very difficult) loss. We settled on Samuel as a middle name for a boy - in Hebrew it means "God has heard/listened", which felt fitting for me as a Jew - and Iris for a girl.

Seren in Welsh means 'star'.

No, I'm not looking for just Irish names open to any language.

@Anotherdayanotheropinon Clara Iris sounds good I think. Fionn with Pádraig is good too, Fionn is super popular but I don't think that will matter as a middle name. I like the meaning of Evelyn too
