For an Italian baby girl. Thoughts?

Isn't that a coffee brand??

Concestor · 16/01/2022 20:16

I googled it and the results were:
A clothing shop
A shoe brand
A toilet manufacturer
And a yacht racing team

So based on that I wouldn't use it as a child's name.

It also does sounda but like a coffee brand though I think that's Lavazza.

Lovely if you are in Italy - although perhaps a bit trendy now there? If you are in the UK, you'll probably have spelling issues (many will assume Azura) as it's very unusual here - but still a pretty name imo.

Snowiscold · 16/01/2022 20:45

I rather like it, but if you’re in the uk, there will be pronunciation issues perhaps with the double z.

Fl0w3ry · 17/01/2022 01:00

I don’t like it. With a name I always consider what their friends might shorten it to, and all I can see is ‘Azz’, which sounds too much like ass/arse.

Same here. Also I just don’t like it, I don’t like the sound or the look of it. Alessandra/Alessia is pretty (in my opinion). I also like Ariana but it’s very associated with the pop star now! Lots of beautiful Italian names around, so I would maybe keep looking.
KloppsTeeth · 17/01/2022 03:40

What about Azra?

DockOTheBay · 17/01/2022 03:54

My first thought was it sounds like a cruise ship, I don't think I would use it in the UK

MrsTerryPratchett · 17/01/2022 04:04

Are you pronouncing it the Italian way At-surra (sort of) or Az-oora?

It's 'blue' if you like that.

TheWayTheLightFalls · 17/01/2022 04:07

… with milk and two sugars please.

Blue was my first thought too.

It is one of the top girl names in Italy so this does not bother people.

It is pretty and cool, go for it! 😍

Lulu1919 · 17/01/2022 06:56

Not keen ....made me think of a cruise ship

So many beautiful Italian names out there ....

KiloWhat · 17/01/2022 08:16

I kinda like it

Geamhradh · 17/01/2022 14:15

1334 babies called Azzurra born in Italy in 2020. It's still uncommon, but is becoming more popular. (The most popular- Sofia has almost 6,000 births in 2020)
I think, as others have said, the biggest issue will be the pronunciation in the UK. It will end up as "Azyoura" or sth.

KirstenBlest · 17/01/2022 14:52

If you are i the uk it will be mispronounced and misspelt

user1493494961 · 17/01/2022 18:57

Much nicer Italian names.

kitcat15 · 17/01/2022 19:14

Its not a nice name at all...its ugly...it will always be spelt wrong .... so many nice Italian names if thats your thing

Luredbyapomegranate · 19/01/2022 23:31

It’s.. OK.
