Final shortlist for girls names - what are your thoughts?

I promise this is my last post. I think we have a final shortlist (although DH isn’t sure about a couple of them). We don’t mind about popularity so that isn’t an issue for us. With that in mind, what are your thoughts on the names below?

Verity favourite, Olivia 2nd , not keen on Allegra or Lilah...is it pronounced lie laa or Lee la either way not keen...
Others ok and nice enough...

All are nice (except Mable to me sounds like an elderly person), but Allegra is particularly lovely.

I know lots of Olivia and Isabellas.

All very pretty but Verity stands out to me

I like Mabel. She can shorten it to May or Belle if she isn't keen. There is a great kids show called Gravity Falls and one if the main characters is called Mabel Pines and she might be one of the best girl characters ever written. So maybe about if your surname is Pine or Pines ...

I rather favour Mabel.

Ophelia or Mabel

Love Mabel and Allegra.

The others are done to death, except Verity which is a little harsh to my ears.

Isabella - too popular if you include Isabelle, Isabel, Isobel and Bella
Grace - not suitable for a graceless or ungracious person
Verity - Ferrety
Lilah (or Lila) - awful
Ophelia - tragic
Mabel - too old lady
Allegra - nice
Olivia - will be Olivia Surname all her life

I'd pick Allegra or Verity

I think its a great shortlist - well done! they are all lovely (but I don't like the superfluous H at the end of Lila)

Verity and Allegra are my favourites, both lovely.

Mable and Lilah are my least favourites.

I actually like Mabel. It’s about time this name made a comeback.
Neneh Cherry’s daughter is called Mabel, so it’s no longer an old person’s name.

Mabel is definitely trendy these days but it's one of those whose appeal eludes me. It just sounds like a drudge's name to me.

Mabel is derived from the Latin amabilis, 'lovable', so not really drudgey. But fair dos if people don't like it

I agree. It is similar to the name Peggy which is also rising in popularity for reasons unbeknownst to me.

I think Isabella and Grace are very overused. I really dislike the name Allegra. Out of your list I would pick Verity. But as an ‘ity’ ending name I prefer Felicity. (I know that isn’t on your list so probably not helpful).

Allegra does sound like an old car!
So many Olivias and Graces, I like Mabel but this might be too popular at the moment because of the singer.

I've never met a verity that's not a pain in the arse!!

Although I love it, Allegra makes me think of the Vauxhall car.

Mabel will always be 75 years old clutching a purse wearing a huge overcoat.
