Grace, Olivia, Isabella - How many do you know?

How many little ones (under 5 or so) do you know called Grace, Olivia or Isabella?

I know they are all very popular names but I haven’t come across any in my DS’ nursery/nct/music classes. DS is 1.5 yo.

Isabella/Isabel/Isobelle - 5

None

My Isabella is 12, I only know one younger than her who is about 4 and I work in a school including in the nursery so come across a lot of names. There were 4 in her brownies though all bar her went to private schools which is how we didn't know them otherwise. I know 2 Grace who are 10 and 8. Plenty of Olivias of all ages

liveforsummer · 12/01/2022 13:10

@wingingit33

Every girl has Grace/rose/May as a middle name. I'm a reception teacher and let's just say Olivia and Isabella have to always be known in class with their second initial.
Must be very area dependant we don't have any Isabellas in our school at all including the nursery classes
Outlyingtrout · 12/01/2022 13:17

Only one Grace and no Isobellas but LOADS of Olivias.

I've tried so hard to give mine names that are unusual but still classic. Not easy. I have one of the ridiculously popular 70s/80s names and have always been one of at least 2 or 3 with the same name in every class, every group, every workplace I've ever set foot in. It's an irritation.

emmathedilemma · 12/01/2022 13:17

2 Grace (age 3 & 40's)
2 Isabelle / Isabelle (age 11 & 40's)
0 Olivia (other than a friend of a friend's daughter so tenuous link, she's early 20's)

Freddie456 · 12/01/2022 13:22

@Outlyingtrout did you have a shortlist of unusual but classic names that you would be willing to share? I like the popular names but I do agree with posts that say it might be a bit of a pain always being one of a number in any environment.

@Freddie456, look at royal names, biblical names, shakespearean names, names from literature, saint's names and names from mythology and you should have plenty to choose from

onedayoranother · 12/01/2022 14:13

No Graces but I know a few Olivias and plenty of variations on Isabel/Isabelle/Isabella from ages 0-18.

lynntheyresexswappers · 12/01/2022 14:33

I have a Grace, but she's known as Gracie, and is the only Grace in her primary school. I've never met another despite how popular (and dull Grin) it apparently is.

LavenderRosemary · 12/01/2022 14:40

I know 2 babies called Olivia. The 3 Grace's I know are all in their 20s. Don't know any called Isabella.

Freddie456 · 12/01/2022 14:55

@lynntheyresexswappers Grace is a lovely name Smile and I can only think of one I knew at school and there are none in my workplace so I still think it’s a top contender for our little one.

Every other girl aged 5-15
Only one Gracie under 5.

Under 5s I know are Alma, Ariana, Ariana-Mae, Anneka, Zara.

Congratulations on your pregnancy op, I'm sure whatever name you choose will be lovely x

None!

Fivebeanchilli · 12/01/2022 15:31

Grace. I know 8 who are aged 16-19. I know a couple in their 20s. I know a few younger than 16 but only a few
Olivia. I know 11 between the ages of 14-20. Again I know fewer younger but I know a couple of 7 year olds.
Isabella - my 19 year old had 40% of the girls in her class with this name in primary school. I still know a lot with this name in all age groups.

Outlyingtrout · 12/01/2022 19:07

@Freddie456 some of the girl's names we considered were Iris, Mabel, Miriam, Josephine (nn Joey), Bonnie, Lydia, Meredith (nn Meri)

Freddie456 · 12/01/2022 19:14

@Outlyingtrout lovely names. Love Iris, Mabel and Bonnie in particular Smile

Mumofgirls2017 · 13/01/2022 08:38

Grace 0
Olivia 3
Isabella 0 but 3 Isabels

And then I know 4 Elodies! Charts aren’t always representative!

nightdune · 13/01/2022 08:53

For under 5...

Grace - 0
Olivia - 2 that I can think of.
Isabella - too many to count. A shame because I love it.

MsTSwift · 13/01/2022 09:49

Both my girls have deeply annoying Graces in their lives so that name is doomed for me anyway!

cherryonthecakes · 13/01/2022 09:56

Grace is like Rose and much more often a middle name rather than first name ime.

I know that Olivia was number one for ages but I hear Eve/Eva/Ava/Evie and Elle/Ellie/Ella/Bella far more often.

Iirc there's a search tool on another site for baby names by postcode.

MerryMarigold · 13/01/2022 10:01

There's a school locally, 1 form entry with THREE Isabellas in Reception this year. My DD has 2 friends called Isabella (age 12-13). I don't know any Olivias (I work with 2-4 year olds) and I know one Grace (14). I guess it depends on area. My son is Oliver and it was the no. 1 name when he was born. There are 2 (him and one other) in his year at school out of 180.

MerryMarigold · 13/01/2022 10:03

So, the school I mentioned has a class of 30. About half will be boys so 3/15 girls are called Isabella! Almost 20% I think.
