NN - Bee (As the name means Bee)

Or neither?!

I love Deborah. Not mad about Debra personally.

Thoosa · 10/01/2022 00:21

Deborah. Bee is a nice diminutive.

Thighdentitycrisis · 10/01/2022 00:21

Deborah (as she looks like a zeborah)

Rodion · 10/01/2022 00:21

Definitely Deborah

Thoosa · 10/01/2022 00:22

Melissa also means honey bee.

GrandRapids · 10/01/2022 00:22

Neither. Awful.

Just go with Bea.

toddybell · 10/01/2022 00:38

Debra is a charity:

www.debra.org.uk

So, Deborah it is.

DPotter · 10/01/2022 00:41

I knew the name meant Bee but never heard Bee used as a NN. I quite like it

AuntTwacky · 10/01/2022 00:55

Neither

Saltypeppa · 10/01/2022 09:10

Deborah. I actually love it!

KirstenBlest · 10/01/2022 09:18

Deborah.

Debra the Zebra

ofwarren · 10/01/2022 09:23

Deborah. Debra contains the word Bra.

NewYearNewKale · 10/01/2022 09:24

Deborah

Skeumorph · 10/01/2022 09:58

Deborah is the correct spelling

UpToMyEye · 10/01/2022 09:59

Neither

Unless you’re giving birth to a 45 year old

Awful name

TheItalianPony · 10/01/2022 10:05

Thanks everyone ☺

@UpToMyEye 😂 I hear ya! BUT we aren't only naming a cutsey baby...that baby will become a child, a teen, an adult and yes, a 45 year old and (hopefully!) beyond!

Deborah

But Bea is lovely on it's own.

Chunkymenrock · 10/01/2022 10:08

Debra always reminds me of cobra. Definitely Deborah.

user1493494961 · 10/01/2022 10:22

Neither, there's the potential for Debbie or Debs, which I'm sure you won't want. Beatrice would give you 'Bee' and is much nicer.

MondayYogurt · 10/01/2022 10:22

The Bea I know pronounces it Bay-ah.
Also know a Deborah who changed it as she didn't appreciate Debbie and Debs.

ohidoliketobe · 10/01/2022 10:23

I just always think
"Your name was Deborah (Deborah), it never suited ya"

Boredinthehouse12 · 10/01/2022 10:28

Deborah

@TheItalianPony

Thanks everyone ☺

Agreed she will! But there is a whole world of grey area between a cutesy baby name and Debra! And don’t forget what her peers will be called, this isn’t the 80s she won’t be growing up with other Debras, Karens, Sharons and Paulas, she’ll be growing up with Evies, Olivias, Bellas, Ivys etc, so poor old Debra will still stick out like a sore thumb with a frumpy old fashioned name - even at 45! If you like Bea just call her that?
Lollipoppit · 10/01/2022 10:32

How about Rebecca? Similar sound to it.
Could still do Bea, along with Bec, Becca and Becky?
