Hello everyone, what would be your pick between Olivia and Elizabeth as a middle name? And why? I like Olivia but seems really popular atm, love Elizabeth too but scared it may be outdated or remind of an old lady if you know what I mean. Thanks everyone x

Elizabeth, it’s a good solid name and not old fashioned. It’s Maisie I’m not keen on (sorry!). I think it also flows better than Olivia.

I agree, Maisie Elizabeth

lavidaesuncarnival · 07/01/2022 14:23

Elizabeth is much classier I think Smile

Elizabeth

Elizabeth Olivia is beautiful! Lizzie, Liza, Beth, Elsie, Betty, so many cute nicknames.
Maisie sounds like you're describing food

I prefer Olivia. It is quiet popular but no way as popular as the boys version Oliver!! Also as a middle name i think popularity matters a lot less.

Elizabeth. Bit more timeless that Maisie and Olivia , which are very of the moment.

I have to say though I would go for Olivia Elizabeth or Elizabeth Olivia over Maisie, it’s sweet for a little girl but it really is a nn.

I like Maisie Elizabeth, a nice combination between 'trendy' and classic.

I don't think Elizabeth's outdated. I know Elizabeths of all ages. A lot of middle names are fairly old fashioned anyway, as quite a few people use relatives' names.

MadeOfStarStuff · 07/01/2022 19:41

Maisie Elizabeth definitely

Elizabeth is my all time favourite name and I think it’s very classic and works well as a middle name

I know Olivia has been super popular for many years now, but I’ve just never liked the sound of it for some reason (but I’ve known plenty of lovely Olivias!)

Maisie Elizabeth
My Gran was Maisie. Apparently its a common nickname for Mary. She was Irish, maybe its just over there.

BiscuitLover3678 · 07/01/2022 20:13

Maisie Elizabeth sounds a lot better.
It’s also a classic and will probably age better.

nuggetschicken · 09/01/2022 20:42

Elizabeth, flows much better.

Ceramide · 10/01/2022 05:08

Olivia

quarantandrums · 10/01/2022 22:11

Maisie Olivia, because Maisie Elizabeth has the "z" sound repeated.

"Elizabeth Olivia"? Seriously? Grin What a mouthful!

DramaAlpaca · 10/01/2022 22:16

Elizabeth. It gives her options in future if/when she decides her first name is too cutesy.
