Which one and why? I do like Heather, but I’m worried that it sounds too dated so Hannah is the safer option but it is quite a popular name

Both are lovely

crumblebug · 05/12/2021 19:25

Both are nice

I dont think think Heather is dated at all

Lndnmummy · 05/12/2021 19:25

Hanna

TheLightSideOfTheMoon · 05/12/2021 19:25

Heather is classic and timeless.

Hannah is 80s.

RiaOverTheRainbow · 05/12/2021 19:29

Heather is lovely, Hannah is fine but (imo) a bit dull.

Hotelhelp · 05/12/2021 19:30

I hate Heather! Never met an interesting one.

CaptSkippy · 05/12/2021 19:30

Hannah

Hannah, Heather is dated and dull.

DramaAlpaca · 05/12/2021 19:33

Heather, it's lovely and has never been overused. It's familiar without being a classic. Hannah is an underused classic these days, and I find it a little bit unexciting. If it helps, I met a toddler Heather recently and thought her name sounded really refreshing.

Edenember · 05/12/2021 19:34

I think the opposite, just shows how different peoples associations are. I find Heather very American 80s (Heather Locklear), along with names like Stephanie and Jennifer. Hannah to me is classic and biblical. Both nice, I prefer Hannah.

TatianaBis · 05/12/2021 19:43

Heather is dated. But it’s a lovely plant - I prefer it to Hannah.

Iamkmackered1979 · 05/12/2021 19:48

I think Heather is such a pretty name not dated, Hannah is nice too but I prefer Heather. Not overused as someone has said, I’m a paeds nurse and I don’t hear it very often at all.

Peaboddy · 05/12/2021 19:49

Hannah for me. Heather does sound quite dated sorry. I quite like Hazel though, that feels due a comeback!

tiredanddangerous · 05/12/2021 19:51

I much prefer Heather. I think it's quite timeless. Hannah is very popular if you're bothered by that.

eightlivesdown · 05/12/2021 19:52

Prefer Heather as a name, but like the diminutive options for Hannah.

IWasFunBeforeMum · 05/12/2021 19:57

Hannah

2pinkginsplease · 05/12/2021 20:04

I’d go for Hannah, a classic name that lasts, for me Heather is old fashioned and dated.

CathyorClaire · 05/12/2021 20:05

Hannah.

Never known a nice Heather.

PanicBuyingSprouts · 05/12/2021 20:05

So difficult as I love both. Heather was my DGM's name so just fir that reason but Heather is a lovely name and I don't think it sounds as dated as some names.

LumosSolem · 05/12/2021 20:06

Hannah. It's a lovely name at any age.

I don't think Heather suits a baby/young child.

AnnaSW1 · 05/12/2021 20:08

I think Hannah's timeless and Heather is dated.

Incognito22333 · 05/12/2021 20:09

I slightly prefer Hannah.
But there was a girl at uni called Hester and that means star and is very literary and a bit different, if you like H names …

TatianaBis · 05/12/2021 20:11

Helena?

Ikeameatballs · 05/12/2021 20:11

I like both.

To me Hannah is a classic but I think it is very popular.

Heather is lovely and sounds quite unusual now. I do link it to the 80s but also to the nature names that are popular now eg Willow/Hazel/Fern

DeadButDelicious · 05/12/2021 20:14

Hannah. A lovely name.
