Think I’ve found the perfect name for DD. Disclaimer: DD’s first name translates to ‘loveable’ in husband’s native language.
So DS name could be … ‘Mungo’. It’s Celtic for loveable too.
How bad is it?
Mungo… time for dinner!
Awesome job Mungo!
Let’s talk about Mungo’s school report.
Please someone tell me it’s a grower.
Coldtoday · 24/11/2021 18:15
Nope it’s really bad. I assume you are joking.
CouncilHousedAndViolentBaby · 24/11/2021 18:15
It's not a loveable name I'll tell ya that❤️
Knockoneofftheshelftowin · 24/11/2021 18:16
I thought it was a name for a male, as in Mungo Jerry.
CandleWick4 · 24/11/2021 18:16
Please don’t. As wrong as it is to bully - he will most definitely be bullied.
Bushkin · 24/11/2021 18:16
I wouldn’t
Anothernamechange3 · 24/11/2021 18:17
Isn’t that what Mowgli in The Archers got his name changed to? No laughing from me, I hate the mocking of names people personally dislike on here. Have you shared with your dh?

I just pictured a wee dog with a tartan jacket on when I read that

TwinklyBranch · 24/11/2021 18:18
It's not great. How about Murdo? Which is also not great, but better than Mungo.
Monsterjam · 24/11/2021 18:18
I laughed
BornIn78 · 24/11/2021 18:18
No, you can’t do that to a child.
vodkaredbullgirl · 24/11/2021 18:18
nope
Anothernamechange3 · 24/11/2021 18:19
At the risk of sounding snobby/elitist I think this is a name where it probably does depend on where you live/what other names are in the area. I can imagine some places where people would be unkind and others where people wouldn’t bat an eyelid.
PineappleTart · 24/11/2021 18:19
I like it
SmallGreenStripes · 24/11/2021 18:20
I like it too
Jobegg · 24/11/2021 18:25
Reminds me of the horror film Lake Mungo which is easily one of the most eerie films I’ve ever watched.
KirstenBlest · 24/11/2021 18:26
I like it @LadyHalesBroach
cormorantes · 24/11/2021 18:27

KirstenBlest · 24/11/2021 18:27
@LadyHalesBroach, this is MN. Call him Roman/Rowan/Reuben/Rory/Teddy...
whenwillthemadnessend · 24/11/2021 18:28
Margo is much better
TrashyPanda · 24/11/2021 18:29
Patron Saint of Glasgow.
Famous explorer Mungo Park.
It’s a fine Scottish name.
I was at school with a guy called Mungo. He wasn’t slagged about his name.
Spidey66 · 24/11/2021 18:29
No, sorry.
It's one of those names thats a great name for a pet, but not a child.
TabithaTumbler · 24/11/2021 18:29
Mary, Mungo and Midge.
I quite like it
TooWicked · 24/11/2021 18:30
I feel like there was a Mungo in Harry Potter? I think it’s ok.
Fleur405 · 24/11/2021 18:30
St Mungo is the patron saint of Glasgow so the name is widely known there though I’ve never met anyone called Mungo. Also St Mungo was a man. A pp suggested murdo which is more common in Scotland but is also a boys name.
MrsMoastyToasty · 24/11/2021 18:31
Nope.
I'm old enough to remember the cartoon Mary, Mungo and Midge. Mungo was a dog.
