Names with a similar feel to Lana?

I love Lana but people keep pointing out to me that backwards it spells anal...

I don't want her name to have this joke, especially in her own family... So does anyone know of any good names that have that same vibe/feel/aesthetic as Lana?

Would you pronounce it Larna with a long a or Lana with a short a?

I love Lana but wouldn't use it for that same reason. I also love Lina / Lena.

I have a little Lana and yes I did know about the unfortunate reversal before we decided on it.
I think the trouble is that you've shared the name now. How many people are going to come out and say anything about anal to you when they're talking about your beautiful new baby girl?
Literally nobody has ever said anything to us except for what a lovely name it is. What they think in their own heads is none of my business. As for when she's older, if somebody wants to pick on another person then they will literally find anything possible they can pick at. Use the name if you love it.

Who even thinks to reverse a name?

If you really love it but worry about the spelling, can you just stick an extra letter in it, like Larna or Lanah? (I know MNers hate a yoonique name and I hang my head in shame for suggesting it).

That’s nuts. No one is going to spell it backwards.

Lara. Isla. Alana. Elena. Lorna. There's nothing stopping you from spelling it Larna though.

Larna is not an alternative spelling of Lana.

Lara is a lovely name and classy too. Julie Christie played Lara in Doctor Zhivago

My cousin is Lanah. Is that an option?

I know an Elna. Unusual but pretty.

People will reverse it I know someone called Lana and she got people reversing her name all the time. I wouldn’t use the name.

My DD is Lana. I’ve never regretted calling her Lana.

We didn’t think about the reversal until someone from the NCT group pointed it out. Thinking about it now that was an awful thing to do but at the time I didn’t even think about it.

To my knowledge she’s only been called it once, aged about 7, when the class were trying out reversing everyone’s names. She wasn’t phased, we’d told her it was a very rude word for bottom OR it had a specific medical use. She wasn’t fussed but the child who called her it got a severe telling off from his mum. I felt a bit sorry for him as he had no idea what it meant.

We know of a few other Lana’s and non of them have mentioned this as a problem.

I also like the names Lucy, Luna, Iona and Nina but I prefer Lana of course. Iona is a beautiful name but it’s three syllables where as Lana is two. It looks similar but is quite different to pronounce. Nina can sound a bit like a fire engine/police car/ambulance.
