I'm due a baby in March (so could be born in April though unlikely) can I use the name April. Or is it only for babies born in that month?

I don't like month names that aren't born in those months. I know one April born in jan so conceived in April ....

@KirstenBlest lol, I never would have made that connection! I know that most of the letters are the same but I think the A v BO at the start make a huge diff. Probably not a name I would choose, as I prefer Irish names but still pretty sounding.

I'm sorry I've just know too many that have been shortened to Ape. Has really ruined it for me.

@Irishfarmer, Avril really isn't nice

May was a form of Mary

I have known Aprils, Mays, Junes and an Augusta and I don't think any of them share the name with their birth month.

When I was a child I assumed that my Aunty June was born in June but I got over the strangeness of it pretty quickly after I found out she wasn't.

If you like the name, go for it.

My Auntie June was born in July Grin

I think it’s perfectly fine.

I just don’t like month names when they suggest the baby was conceived in that month..! Grin
